So if anybody remembers, I've been wanting the amazingness of a DSLR for more than forever now - because 7 megapixels simply doesn't cut it. :) So today, I went and did a little window shopping and it has come down to the following:
The Canon 500D is looking like a pretty good option - 15.1 megapixels and 3.4 frames/second... which is pretty decent. The other option is the (much more expensive) Canon 400D:
I think the only difference would be the frames per second and the resolution.
