"He's so ugly. When you walked by him, your pants wrinkle. He made fly balls curve foul" ~ Mickey Rivers.

Junk Clothing Colourblock Top - Vintage Highwaisted Checkered Pants - Tony Bianco Dodge Boot in Ash Suede - La Dama Hand Chain - Nu+Nic Treble Clef Ring

A super fast one today before I get my beautiful hours of sleep - I have an interview tomorrow! So very excited :)

My kid brother (I'm in denial that he's now taller than me) laughs at me regularly about these beloved pants of mine. For those of you who don't like them, you can laugh with him at why :) But for those who do, I guess I think of them as my weird equivalent to boyfriend jeans. Same slouchiness, same comfort, same unflatteringness from certain angles... which is why I think they slot quite nicely with Junk Clothing's "model-off-duty" vibe for the latest collection. This Junk top is from this said collection, and I can't help but to marvel at the fun alternation between panels of warm grey and white - and the slightly angled cut that makes it floaty, but transeasonal. Check out more HERE.

And not to forget La Dama chains and my pretty piece of love from Nu and Nic!

Goodness me, my hair is getting long...

P.S. do come and follow on Twitter and Bloglovin' :)

P.P.S. the Mickey Rivers quote is probably the most irrelevant quote I have ever posted in my life (except maybe wrinkly pants?) - I just laughed when I read it, is all - and I don't even know why I laughed.

ANISE.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It is entirely possible that I squealed (such an unattractive word) at my laptop when the lovely Sophie from ANISE sent these shots through from the latest collection. There is something fantastically serene about them all that really sets off the Summery colours, incredible cuts (sweetheart necklines - I love you) and a slightly whimsical field-frolicker in us all. Don't lie. I know you're in there somewhere :)

How beautiful are the flowers in her hair? Pledge to the world: I will do that and make daisy chains every day of the Summer. Disclaimer: this may not happen (but I will take one photo of it in action and pretend it did).

Selfmade Striped Turband - YesStyle.com.au Double-button Long Blazer - Ezzentric Topz Vintage Polka Dot Blouse - Fashops.com Pocket Shorts - We Love Colours Vertical Striped Thigh Highs in Charcoal - OSBORN Boots from ModCloth.com

Although these shots look somewhat like crap (I will continue to tell myself that the cars and ugly rails are to blame... and I don't like using Photoshop), I think this is probably the happiest I've been with my photographic adventures. I messed around with aperture and shutter speed today to get a natural backlight, and although I clearly have some problems with keeping my head still, I'd say I'm smiling at how they turned out.

I got a bit silly with mixing patterns today - I've been wearing these amazing OSBORN boots non-stop thanks to ModCloth, and I could see no better option than to shake them up with irregular spots, the bizarrely tangled stripes on this turband I made before I went to bed last night, and the less bizarrely tangled stripes on these We Love Colours stripey thigh-highs that are much more suited to warmer weather than my other ones.

I'm trying to get more wear out of this blazer before the mercury skyrockets - though I think the drapey pockets make it look less Wintry. Yes no? And, by the way, YesStyle.com and YesStyle.com.au are both offering free shipping when you order with PayPal until October 3! Which is a pretty big bonus - I always balk at shipping costs. So for Aussies, click HERE and for the rest of the world, click HERE to get shopping.

The more I look at it, the more I think that last shot looks like a film negative. It's messing with my eyes.

And now to announce the winner of the Lucky 13 giveaway! Congratulations to:

Woohoo! I feel like Santa :) Stacy, I'll be in touch asap! And to everyone else, don't worry - more giveaways soon!

You're invited...

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

My dear Martina, the brains and beauty behind f.rau - the amazing Berlin-based label that you'll all be more than familiar with - is inviting you all to her presentation of the latest f.rau SS11 collection in Paris (for all of you who may be around Paris or are going to Paris Fashion Week). Given the brilliance of her last collection (and the philosophy behind it), I'm waiting with bated breath and excitement for this one!

So if you're in Paris some time between October 1 and 6, be sure to stop by the Tranoi Showroom Parc Royal, 10 Rue du Parc Royal, Paris 3. But, to get the best parts, stop in before October 3. And take photos and give Martina a hug from me :D I so want to be there!

For the rest of us who aren't so fortunate to be in Paris (sigh), I'll hopefully be able to get some lookbook shots for you very very soon!

P.S. I'll be announcing the giveaway winner this afternoon - and if you get the chance, do votey vote for Shine By Three HERE!

Belle Bijoux: Belle.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
It is my absolute pleasure to introduce to you the lovely Belle - creative genius behind Belle Bijoux. Her amazing accessory designs have been worn, loved and reloved by the likes of Katy Steele, Jessica Simpson, Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Hawkins, Megan Gale, Kate Ceberano, Sophie and Gemma Ward.. Hardly surprising with the effectiveness of her signature lacing on all her leather work! It's a bit hypnotising after a while - I love it. What I also love is the colour of the leather sh manages to set off with her shapes and clever craftsmanship - teal happens to be my favourite colour at the moment, so that first bag makes me die. Rachel Zoe style.

So, here we go - an interview with this talented Miss!
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Hi hi, how’s it going?
Superb thanks! You?

How did you start out as a designer?
It was as easy as shopping in a bead shop with a friend and I thought I’d give it a go. Making jewellery quickly turned from a hobby into a business much to my surprise.

What would you say is the Belle Bijoux vibe?
Timeless, Old World, Effortless, Functional & Luxurious.

The amazing details and intricacies in your work get me every time! Where did your inspiration come from?
Attention to detail is always very important to me. Over 10 years a go I was in an op shop and found the most gorgeous bag which has similar lace work to what Belle Bijoux has today, I re-worked it and added my own sensibility and it’s now the signature of Belle Bijoux.Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
On an island in the Bahamas! ha ha! Hopefully still creating pieces for women to love and keep forever… whilst living in the Bahamas of course!

Which is your all time favourite Belle Bijoux piece?
Def the signature piece the Etta Bag. This bag will forever stay in the Classics Collection and from time to time I have and will continue to inject it into future collections in different colours and leather finishes.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Who’s your favourite style icon of the moment?
Anna Dello-Russo – Mostly because of her Bravery, Her Fun, Colour and Chic. I couldn’t pull off most of her looks but who wouldn’t want to wear McQueen Haute Couture to the office?

To you, does a bag mean to an outfit?
They can make or break an outfit! A look that could be quite average/boring without them can be transformed into WOW in just seconds! Which can also work in reverse, a great outfit can be let down by a tacky bag.

Our last interviewee, designers Laura Hall and Gillian Mahin of For Love and Lemons, would like to know: What blogs are you following now?
As always I LOVE the Satorialsit, Simply Shoe Obsessed and the Green Style Blog.

And last of all, what’s a random question would you like to ask the next interviewee?
What is your personal fashion moment last season?
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Thanks Belle! :)

P.S. Giveaway ends tonight at MIDNIGHT! So get entering :) and do votey vote!

These eye-poppers by Andrea & Joen are, thankfully, out very soon! When Candice sent these shots through I'd been in a bit of a mood in sync with the overcast day, but these have made me look forward to Summer, beaches, and black and white dresses with a hit of shoe-colour with these babies. I don't think you can go wrong with primary colours, and Andrea & Joen have taken it to a new saturated level that makes me want to dance more than I did in my last post. The way they've used knotting is pretty fantastic too, so I can't wait to try a pair of these on!

Check out more of their awesome Summery shoes HERE.

What did we all do this weekend?

P.S. only one day left to enter the GIVEAWAY! And if you get the chance, do vote for Shine By Three for H&M :) advancing up those worldwide ranks!

Covet Vintage Co. Sequined Top - Fendi Vintage Sunglasses - Bardot Tulle Skirt - Rubi Lucy Boots - Love on my arm

So it seems that I have an affinity to vintage sequins - which does make sense. Unless they are hand-stitched, sequined pieces "now" tend to have that slight tackiness to me, with a few exceptions. The slightly sharp shoulders and almost-sweater cut of this amazing top (with a huge thanks to the lovely Ellin of Covet Vintage Co.) stamps it as thumbs up, and cinching it with my favourite Bardot skirt makes me want to dance that much more. Swish swish.

You all remember my manic jumping up and down over my vintage Fendi sunnies I got for a steal a few weeks ago - so here they are in all their glory. I'm liking how the gold frames pick up where the gold trim on the neckline and sleeves left off. By the way, Covet has an absolute treasure trove of new vintage pieces at some pretty impressive prices HERE.

Before we freak out and think Miss Margaret has gotten a tattoo (scroll down and you'll see how fabulously convincing or unconvincing it is), today was To Write Love On Her Arms Day here in Australia, which is a movement dedicated to helping the fight against depression, addiction, self-harm and suicide. So if there's a day or an hour before you go to bed, write love on your arm - and if people ask, tell them.

If you pardon my ridiculous bedhair, hopefully you can see my new favourite carry-around Cream Lipgloss by Aves Cosmetics. The texture is so smoothy smooth and surprisingly moisture-retaining (though now I think about it, it's what you'd expect from something made from 100% natural minerals). You can't really tell, but I tried doing a gradient from the Flamingo shade to the Lorikeet shade, which was fun - I'll try and get some better photos next time I'm wearing it. You can check out more colours and other make up products right HERE.

Sorry about the image and text heavy post!! Hope you're all having a great weekend so far :) I need to get my sleeping patterns back in line. HSC pulls them out of whack big time.

From left to right: TOPSHOP Strapless Lace Corset Top in Mint - MAC Sculpting Powder Pro Palette - TOPSHOP Split Side Maxi Dress - NARS Cream Eyeshadows - Shiseido Liquid Foundation - Revlon Sheer Nude Nail Polish - CLINIQUE Blushing Blush Powder - TOPSHOP WISTERIA Chiffon Tie Wedges in Blush [back] - Neutrogena Full Volume Mascara - TOPSHOPWISTERIA Chiffon Tie Wedges in Blush [front]

I've been getting a lot of emails asking for more of my creative posts, and while I keep promising to post sketches and designs sooner and sooner and sooner, that, realistically, isn't going to happen until I find myself an A3 scanner (which may take a while) so I'm going to start with an easier request from Alanna (hello!!!) to post "more of those little ensemble things you do sometimes - like when you play stylist". I've always wanted to play stylist for a shoot... so here we go.

This corset top is on its way in the mail! I'm so excited. Those of you who've been around here for long enough will remember when I had my heart set on wearing it over things - now if only I owned that wonderful bag of a maxi tee to play with. I don't even want to talk about these wedges because I've been in love with them (not the price tag) for far too long, and given my evident liking for a muted, dusty colour palette today, I think I'd cry of wanting them in my sleepy, procrastinating state.

For a bit of a change, I didn't think any jewellery would have suited the colours, so I threw in some pretty make up spills that I've been liking.

Exciting things to come!

Hope you've all had a great start to the weekend.

Lonely by Lonely Hearts.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I had such a spectacular day today that I spent most of the afternoon running around screaming and crying of happiness that I didn't get a chance to photograph anything for you all! Very soon, though - the promise is made :)

Having said that, I think this amazing Lonely Hearts lookbook makes up for that ten-fold! I've always loved Lonely Hearts' beautiful simplicity - these are the best words I can come up with to describe what I think every time I peek at this collection. Visualise a straight horizon with little islands and waves popping up every so often. It's such a relieving big breath out from the rising heels, hems and Gaga-land going on out there a lot of the time!

The marble printed mini-dress below is to die for and I am in love. Just so you know. :) Thanks Keya for sending these through!

A little pomp.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usImage Hosted by ImageShack.usImage Hosted by ImageShack.us

The launch of pompidou.com.au is probably the greatest online shopping event that has happened to me (and now, all of you) all year. Stocking some all the Aussie labels that I constantly keep tabs on (e.g. these incredible Maurie & Eve pieces featured above - crazy prints, fly to me), pompidou is well and truly on its way to cult status. I have an eagle eye on the MANIAMANIA pieces in particular. The wishlist just gets longer and longer, doesn't it? So click HERE to get trawling through that treasure trove (unintended alliteration).

Several more exciting things.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The first of which is something I've been bursting to share with you ever since the amazing LG Fashion team got in touch with me a month or so ago. For the next couple of months, as well as keeping up Shine By Three, I'll be guest-blogging (I guess you could call it that) with fellow (and very much admired) bloggers, Brooke, Isabel, Tieka, Jen, Raez, Jane and Andrea! I'm so honoured to have been chosen by LG and to be blogging alongside these amazing girls who I've been following forever, so whenever you get the chance, do pop over to the LG Fashion Voice and check out all the things out combined brains have to say about all the things we know you love (as well as the awesome new LG couture phones - check them out... they're a bit insane).

Second of all, if you haven't noticed the little H&M banner of Alber Elbaz in the top right hand corner, then take a look and clicky click! H&M is hosting a monster international competition to see how much blog followers love their bloggers, and the most loved blog will win an exclusive trailer for the Lanvin for H&M collaboration - which I think is just a little mindblowing! So, lovers, if you do love Shine By Three as much as you say you do :p take a walk and click on the banner or right HERE to vote for me!

Much love in advance!

YDELUYT Sunnies - Gary Pepper Vintage Sequin Dress - Tony Bianco Dodge Boots

A long overdue outfit for you beautiful people :) Breathe out.

Who remembers my beloved gold YDELUYT sunnies from this post? Well, here they are again in black! I'm so in love with this shape - I can't think why I ever doubted them! They're actually a lot more versatile than you'd think, and they've suited every face shape I've thrown them on (it's the angles - angles in everything fixes everything else). And silver-dipped tips? Who can resist. Get them HERE.

This insane sequined dress is probably the most ridiculous piece of vintage I've ever owned. And I love it. I just need to decide on how I'm going to alter it - as you can see, I'm awkwardly hitching it up and tugging it all over the place to make it look less like a sack on me. When I bought it from the lovely Nicole, I had my mind set turning it into a slouchy cropped sequin tee, but now I'm not so sure! Any suggestions? In any case, the top half is not going anywhere. I love how it walks the line between freak old lady and tween wild child.

The more I look at it, the more I love the sequined leaves.

The surprise I've been speaking of will be unveiled tomorrow! Get excited :)

Hope you've all had a fantastic weekend!
