Aves, aves.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I know I don't talk about make up often - mainly because I try not to wear a lot of it too often - but today, we have the biggest exception you've seen for a long while. The reason I don't like wearing a lot of make up is because I'm weirdly paranoid about dusting things all over my face, most likely due to ongoing experiences with ridiculous cake stage make up involved in dance. The solution? Aves Cosmetics! Aves already gets brownie points from me because they're an Aussie label. On top of that, everything is Australian made with all natural ingredients to ease my paranoia :D The lovely Miss Bonnie from Aves also recently launched the online store, with a lot of make up tips and techniques on the way in the next couple of weeks, so keep your eye out for those!

I've always thought that make up products that are pretty to look at always look that much better on - so I'd say you need to be stopping by Aves HERE to eye up the impressive range of colours they have in store.

Paco Park.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I've been in touch with the lovely Marianne and Carmela Diaz - two super sweet Aussie girls who are living the life in Paris (jealous jealous jealous... but Aussie pride all the same :D), working on their amazing label, Paco Park - a one-stop amazing-blazer-shop if I ever saw one. But what they do a bit differently from every other young and smiling designer out there is that they run around with their beautifully constructed jackets, and photograph Parisian guys and girls in them, which, might I add, gives us all a bit of first-hand confirmation of their jackets' versatility while standing out of the crowd. Literally.

I personally love the fun details that the pair work into their jackets that make them a little tribal, a little youth culture, and very much matching the smiles and sometimes bizarre locations that these jackets find themselves in. Really - it's like reading a picture book, but with attractive people in Paris :) clicky clicky!

Palette |ˈpalit| n. the range of colors used by a particular artist or in a particular picture.

YesStyle.com Double-button Long Blazer - ClubCouture Beige Chiffon Dress - Seventh Door Over the Knee Socks - Tony Bianco Dodge Boots in Ash Suede - Storm London Timeless Watch - La Dama Hand Chain

Looking a bit silly with my mouth open, most of the time, on my way home from dinner with the family, wearing my current favourite colour palette - I can never get enough of browns and nudes. This supremely comfy YesStyle.com blazer is a little more camel-coloured than the photos make it out to be, but the texture and cut are the main things I'm in love with. There'll definitely be enough breathing space to wear this over Summer, and the drapey pockets are hold a surprising number of necessities - my massive brick of a phone being the first. Second is my sweet ClubCouture chiffon that I can't wait to wear to absolute death in warmer weather - the back has a similar V-cut, and whenever there's a slight breeze, I always stand facing into it and watch the pretty layers float around all ethereally.

I received this wonderfully classic watch from the wonderful time travelers (aren't I funny) at Storm London, a few weeks ago and thought it layered really nicely with this hand chain in a bit of a hardware clash. I'll be trying to get lots of use out of this dear watch and these knee highs over the next couple of weeks too - the thought of having to part with my Winter clothing for a good 6 months makes me want to sit at home with all of it piled on my head. Like a giant hat of awesome.

It occurred to me the other day that I'm just constantly cycling the same pairs of shoes, that you all must be a bit bored of. I'm always talking about shoes. And showing you pictures of shoes I want... but I never get around to getting them. I might have to change that. Any ideas, keeping in mind that it'll be getting warm here soon?

Weirdly excited for Monday morning.

80%20NYC.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usImage Hosted by ImageShack.usImage Hosted by ImageShack.us

Some happy shoe love to start your weekends :) Thanks to Kristina from 80%20NYC who sent these shots through. Sure, they're the same shoe, but each trumps the last in being awesome without trying. It's like they're screaming... I'm so badass that I can hike a volcano in wedges. I have a weird liking for wedge boots at the moment. And I did hike a volcano in Costa Rica once. So it's a perfect match, don't you think? :p

Check out more amazing shoes HERE (that are, Northern Hemispherers, right on point for your coming fall). And Southern Hemispherers? There's still a few chilly mornings to go... then store them on top of your closet in a dust bag to break in next June :)

Hope you all had a great week! I just got home from netball where I got a tiny bit beaten up. We all did. Good times.

Move on over.

AL&ALICIA Meredith Dress - YDELTUYT Sunnies - We Love Colours Sheer Knee Highs in Teal - Rubi Lucy Boot - Lime Crime Lipstick in My Beautiful Rocket

Stealing the show today are these amazing sunnies from YDELTUYT - far far away in the Netherlands (I've always wanted to holiday there, but YDELTUYT makes up for that - clicky!). The gold frame is something I've never tried before, and I've come to the conclusion that I'm just a little in love. With pointed tips that are dipped a slightly different gold, there's nothing not to love here - and 100% UV protection is a plus... take it from an Aussie. I've played with a few different shapes of sunnies in preparation for Summer, and ironically, the weirdest and most wonderful (with a bit of A. Wang in mind) happened to make it to number one.

Next to the new vintage Fendi's of course :D

I can smell Summer. And I am insanely excited. So here's a deceptively simple little white dress by AL&ALICIA to celebrate (the pleats are so gorgeous). These We Love Colours socks are actually a bit more towards the green end of the spectrum than these shots show them to be, but either way, the weather now (starting to feel the heat!) is perfect to wear them - in their sheer glory. Before I left, I decided I felt a bit boring so just enough of My Beautiful Rocket to be the tiniest bit orange was a nice balancing act - tip of the century. When an outfit doesn't click, add something of the complete opposite colour. It always works. I swear.

On a bit of a depressing note though, my beloved bootsies appear to be slowing down to their last legs - despite my vehement denial that this is the case up until today when I discovered the hugest scratch on one of the heels (see below). I can wear platforms and ridiculous heels, wedges, and all other forms of shoe that I declare to be amazing, but I always come back to these favourites, so I'm thinking about how lost I'll be when they give up on me. Call me stupid for wearing them to absolute death, but who wouldn't when they're this amazing and versatile?

I need to find a new hairdresser. The past three have not been the best, and all I really want right now is a trim - not 5 inches hacked off, thank you very much! Any recommendations from Sydney-siders?

Stolen Girlfriends Club: Heavy Petal.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

You're all more than a little familiar with the Southern Hemisphere big name, Stolen Girlfriends Club, who, season after season, sends the industry in to a flurry of down-on-my-knees type love for their incredible concepts and the sharpness with which they're executed. This latest 'Heavy Petal' collection, kindly sent through by Luke, is so much of a non-exception that I was beaming for the rest of the day after seeing these.

So, given my nude palette obsession as evident in my last post, how could I not love them?

Love is an understatement. Layering if sheers and textures is not. Same story for the cuts, and a fairytale twice the length for the colours. How gorgeous are those peachy beiges? And these are just my absolute favourites.

The vibe is exactly on point. Margaret is in love and will do a cartwheel in the middle of George Street to own every one of these pieces :)

YesStyle.com Long Sleeve Shirt - Violet&I Dancing Skirt - Generic Sheer Tights - Zoe Wittner Ursula Wedges - Cristiana Rosary - Vintage Fendi Sunglasses

I realise that I look like an absolute idiot wearing sunnies at night, but I swear it was light about 5 minutes before I shot these (I hate flash, for the record)! I also realise that these aren't the most flattering photos of me. Just try and focus on the incredible vintage Fendi sunnies that I ebayed for an absolute steal! You'll be seeing details in proper sunlight soon, I promise :)

This gorgeous peachy pink blouse from YesStyle.com will definitely be a staple in the fast approaching Spring. Its airy floatiness will pass any Aussie Summer test for sure, and as stereotypically soccer-mum-ish the sunnies placement is, the wide neckline does do it a decent dose of justice, helped along by the nudey-nude rosary.

So in a nutshell, the blouse is everything I'd been hunting for. Check.

And this Violet&I skirt, aptly named the dancing skirt - and oh can it dance! I love the layering of it, with the generous fabric that quite literally swishes as you walk (and/or spin).

Tell me I'm not the only one stuck on nudes and beiges at the moment.

I do hope you enjoyed the inappropriately-lit outfit post :)

I know the blog has been crawling long slightly less speedily over the past week or two - let me tell you know that it's about to pick up a lot!

What happens.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

For the second time in two weeks, I really must be apologising for my missing a day (yesterday). I was exhausted due to all things ridiculous. One of those things was, however, really quite worth it - i.e. dear Sophie's Las Vegas themed 18th (she so old :O) that was awesome beyond words. Happy belated Birthday Miss Sophie :)

These photos were taken by the awesome Kath Mills, whose camera I need to be enquiring about. Don't you love film photography? Gotta love me some Black Jack and Roulette... supreme fluke land.

I guess this isn't an outfit as such, but I'm wearing my vintage fur (there were so many floating around that night - I spent a good half hour running around stroking them), my currently over-used black backless maxi, assorted bling as the high rollers do it, and the awesome Retrofuturist lipstick from Lime Crime that soldiered strong all night despite numerous straws and chewing ice. It's a tendency of mine - if there is ice, I chew it.

Having said all this, I swear I swear: outfit post tomorrow :) Get excited.

And if I haven't replied to your beautiful comments (which I know I haven't on oh so many occasions with a rapidly multiplying inbox count to show it), I still love you! I have somehow managed to become snowed under in life without actually having any deadlines. I'm talented like that.

What did you all get up to over the weekend?

Evil Twin SS10.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

With the combination of uptown street-roamer, downtown party party times, and the vintage hippie that takes over a bit of all of us when warmer weather rolls around, the essentially Aussie element of scuba ties Evil Twin's newest collection into something mercilessly reflective of their comfortingly familiar vibe. As badass as it is :)

I don't know what it is about this scuba mini-trend sprinting through, but I really like the instant versatility it brings to whatever piece it graces - particularly that first body con skirt above. The zipper does it for me.

I can never get quite enough of the boxy cropped tee either, and had been trying to decide whether I need some more to get me through record highs in the coming Summer. Again, converted by Evil Twin - my plan to live the Summer in dresses has failed without even starting. Instead, I'm wearing flatteringly-cut skirts, bowler hats, and rocking it all at the beach for no reason at all.

Check out more HERE (if I'd posted anymore, I would have needed to include the entire collection)

I should have a lot of photos to show you all soon! Got home an hour ago from a friend's wonderful 18th. Tis the season.

Pitchouguina.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The things that Anna can achieve with knits is really beyond the realm of all things fathomable. As the creative mastermind behind her label Pitchouguina, Anna is, without a doubt, elite in the area of retexturing classic cuts for a fun, but certainly more cohesive and sophisticated look. Her later autumn collection is just as gorgeous as this small selection I'm sharing with you - some of the embellishments there are actually the loves of my life. Just so you know :)

With the sweetest personality and a passion for what she does and how she does it, Anna is one of the phenomenal new names to be revolutionising the barrier between street and runway.

How stunning is that last one :O

Check out more of Anna's work HERE.

P.S. Very exciting news! I was chosen to be one of three on the ModCloth.com/Weardrobe.com Mod Honour Roll, and I've styled three Polyvore looks for that. Check them out HERE, HERE and HERE (sorry - I'm a bit Polyvore illiterate, so some might look a bit odd). Which do you guys like the best?

Violet&I Grace Bralet - Nightcap Clothing Co. Moonshine Maxi - Boutique Oversized Cardigan

Needless to say, I feel pretty terrible that I didn't get to do a post for you guys yesterday! I swear I will never miss another day again... without a valid reason :) Yesterday's was simply that there weren't enough hours in the day. I need 36, I swear.

Moving on to the amazing longline bralet that Anna of Violet&I sweetly lent me to style and share with you guys. You must all be getting supremely sick of these maxi dresses, but this bustier looked perfect with the teeny black pleats (that came through in the photos this time!). The layering in particular made for a beautiful silhouette formation for an otherwise uncinched dress, without being stiff or uncomfortable - the satin on this bralet is so soft and magically fits itself to your ribs. It's true - I have the strangest ribcage and it sat like a glove. Check it out HERE.

Hurrah for finally fulfilling the inner-as-outer concept too! I'm really happy with the way the odd exposure settings I hurriedly decided on picked up the seams on the top too. Might try it more often!

P.S. I'm not in and alleyway! Not the most interesting location, but I'll keep hunting for you all :)

I need to get some sleep.

Hey there, Dahlia.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Most of you will remember the amazing dress thanks to ModCloth.com that first started my excitement for lengthening days and possibilities of the beach (if not, you've some reading up to do). The dress was by the incredible UK-based label, Dahlia, whose bright-faced stab at genuine (and a little flirtatious) Spring has brought a lot of new silhouettes to the table. My favorite, as evident, is the tea-dress for sure (I actually wore it to a gorgeous friend's 'tea party').

I'm loving the way layering compliments so many different elements of the ensemble in each photos. I certainly can't get enough of this in terms of any sort of transeasonal activity - next stop, the beautiful cut of the striped blazer. In that respect, Dahlia is such a fascinating label you guys should watch :)

Those first two shots literally make want to cartwheel.

Check out more of Dahlia HERE.

P.S. do pardon my absolutely shameful post title - I don't know how it's possible, but I have about half the energy I did when I was doing my exams. This can't be a good sign.
