Musical closets.

Altec Lansing asked me to share some musicians and artists who inspire my style in one way or another... plus my favourite tracks... that I may or may not have on merciless repeat. Florence, as evident, is purely here for the insanity. If I could get away with ridiculous amounts of sparkly makeup and incredible padded shoulders (think Brian Lichtenberg) all the time, I so would. I may not have flaming hair, but I do appreciate songs (and incredibly filmed music videos) that everyone else seems to be sick of:

Number two: Sara Bareilles

For her super sweet and classic face, and style that's just as simple with a field-running edge. And I do secretly wish I had her voice:

And my most recent discovery: Minute 36

Possibly the greatest combination of crazy (musically speaking) and classic (three-piece-suit speaking - and acoustic instruments) for Summer... and the rest of the year - there are some serious deep-in-thought moments to be had with A Golden Glove of Humility strolling along in the background:

Don't you wish your life were a musical?

Or Florence's wardrobe :)

Sneaky. Like a fox.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

You'll all recognise this super hot piece of Desert Fox by the lovely ladies at Stylestalker - Katie helped me out with a few snaps just before the sun disappeared this afternoon. Stylestalker is currently having a pop-up shop down at their office, and tomorrow (Sunday) is the last day! Make sure you come down and visit between 10am and 5pm at Studio 4, 21 Regent St, Redfern, NSW 2016.

See you there!

P.S. I'm loving all these questions you've all been asking! Keep them coming HERE and I'll have answers up very soon!

Poke my brains.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I think I've only ever done a Q&A about me once before, and, if I may say so, a lot of new and exciting things and changes have happened since then! So, I thought it would be nice to ask you guys what you would like to know, given the pretty decent increase in email-questions as of late!

Go ahead and literally - ask me anything in a comment below, and I'll pull together my answers in a few days!

I'm a bit excited to see what you all come up with :)

Oi, oi, oi.

Happy Australia Day, lovers! I spent the day picnicking, junk-fooding, sun-soaking, and happy-snapping with my closest friends, one of whom will be on a plane away for 6 months tomorrow :(

With the ridiculous temperatures (and intense sun - too many strange tanlines), we spent most of our time in one water-body or another, and so I busted out my beloved new Seafolly awesomeness from Aussie swimwear experts, SUNBURN. Unlike any other bikini I've ever owned, this one is a sort of scuba-suit material - I definitely feel that much more badass in it. Plus my staple sunnies for additional armour.

Thanks to the lovely Tash for snapping these for me!

What did you all get up to for Aus day? Even if you aren't in Aus :)

The just-out lookbook of Beginning Boutique makes me want to rewind the clock to the beginning of December, and start Summer again with the above activities involved. Particularly ice creams and meaningful maxi-dressed strolls, plus this amazing selection of awesome-approved Aussie labels. Wearing the likes of Bec & Bridge, One Teaspoon, and Living Doll all day would probably contribute to further lipsticked smiles - just as well I'll be hitting the beach for a forecasted 40 Celcius Australia Day!

Check out more of my intense BB wishlist (i.e. entire store) HERE.

Happy Australia Day for today lovers!!! Party it up :)

POLYGON STORE Free Love Crop Top - Vintage Skirt - Swedish Hasbeens Sky High Clogs in Natural Leather from Solestruck.com - YesStyle.com Felt Wide Brim Hat - ASOS Boyfriend Belt - Vintage Bag

Too much polychiffon in the same eyeful? I'm sorry - I really couldn't resist with the ruffles and sweetheart neckline of this POLYGON top! I somehow managed to half-tuck the ruffles into my favourite belt (which I quite like)... but the amazing skirt (that I got for $7 at Rozelle Markets last weekend) is very much alive and breathing - would you look at that colour! I swear it'll never fade: here's to dancing through 2011 in it!

Coincidently, my amazing Hasbeens from Solestruck managed to form a strange alliance with pink ruffles, plus the new love of my life aka. Mr Felt Wide Brim Hat who I've been pining after for ever-and-a-half. YES I can now kick Indiana-Jones-ass. In a sea green skirt. I should start a Felt Hat Army - starting with all you YesStyle lovers.

Life is good.

Sorry - Private Party.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I make it no secret that AL&ALICIA is definitely one of my all time favourite labels for its fresh take on basics, and refreshingly relaxed take on all things that wouldn't work in any other context. I've blogged, photographed and jumped through two of Alicia's super-awesome collections, but this latest one by the appropriately exclusive name of Private Party, is definitely the trump card to date.

The mix of sheers, nudes and blacks with cutting short, cutting off, cutting Vs, is definitely adventurous in its own right - and furthermore, flawlessly constructed. And I'm also now in love with double-sized Lennon glasses :)

Staple Over Exposure Zip Top from Market HQ - f.rau Zippered Trackpants - Tony Bianco Dodge Boots - Does Not Equal Cross Ring - C&A Cluster Ring - ASOS Claw Ring - RIO Slip

I'm thinking this is the first time I've ventured much further than my little lane after dark with my tripod to snap snappy for you guys - once I got the idea of a streetlight to show the sheer awesomeness (haaaa I'm so funny) of this Staple top from Market HQ, I couldn't not go through with it. So, while I should continue reminding myself that I need to invest in a remote (focus estimations only go so far, evidently), I would like to announce that I'm a ghost, goddammit. And streetlights make me glow :)

I'll shut up in a second about streetlights - but don't you love that the lens flare isn't from the sun?

Do feel free to pick up an identical top HERE and join me in my nighttime, undead, frolicking.

We all fall down.

My photographic adventures ended up in my dish of rings with a backlight and a shot #1 that reminds me of the Jersey Boys posters I've been seeing around Sydney for however many months (I never did get to the actual show). As much as I want to continue my evident chunky-ring-story, I'm thinking I need some simpler things that are a little more versatile and solid (vintage rings do tend to fall apart) and while I know I can't pull of expensive jewellery, some of the simpler ones of these sterling silver rings, that Pammy showed me earlier this week, are definitely something to admire.

Nonetheless, my favourites will still be in my back pocket:
  1. Markets, DIVA, Vintage, ShopRuche, YDELTUYT
  2. Does Not Equal
  3. C&A
  4. Markets
What do we all think? Ring suggestions?

Happy weekend, lovers!

Living Doll Draped Tank - Somedays Lovin' Harems - Zoe Wittner Ursula Wedge - Dutzi Designs Hessian Clutch

To match my sleepy eyes, I took to hippie-land today. In all honesty, none of these pieces on their own would have screamed hippie in any sense, but put together (plus a slightly overcast sunset before dinner), I think I did a pretty good job of convincing quiet-restaurant-goers that I was one of those sun-chasing teens with a guitar and a field as a backyard. Actually that might not be so false after all :p

Just as the slouchy top is perfect, I am a bit obsessed with the loud and sunny print of these pants. Aside from making up for the failed sunset, the pockets and outrageous comfort definitely speak louder than the colour. Plus the tones are (mildly) in check with the hessian on the amazing clutch from the talented Ariane Dutzi (who was just featured in VOGUE Mexico! Congratulations, lady!) that makes lack-of-hurry that much easier.

As you can see, my beloved Wittner wedges are also on their last legs. Hugest sad face ever. Any suggestions for a replacement? As much as it breaks my heart.

They have Bespoken.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

My punning skills need a bit of a kickalong :) As I said in my last post, the lovely ladies at Bespoke PR had me along to their beautiful showroom to discuss a super exciting project (shhhhh - you'll hear it about it very soon!), after which I went snap happy around white walls. The way they've (prettily) displayed everything gave me an opportunity to play with backlighting (I'm such a nerd) so here you go! SO many pieces I'm in love with - I'm going to storm the place one day and play dress-ups :)

As well as refueling my Brian Lichtenberg obsession. Yummm sparkles.

Covet Vintage Co. Silk Shirt - ANISE Maxi Dress as Skirt - ASOS Boyfriend Belt - Zoe Wittner Ursula Wedges

I got my mum to take some quick snaps of my hilariously pointless use of my ASOS belt that I haven't taken off since I got it last week - I have to say I'm in love with the weird loopy knot thing (if anyone even knows what I'm talking about :D). I had just been at the Bespoke PR showroom and met the wonderful girls there - I have some awesome photos to share with you all tomorrow, and despite my sleepy facial expression in Photo #1, I'm pretty excited :)

In the mean time, we can rest assured that I'll be living in this beloved Covet vintage shirt for the rest of summer, and that this new ensemble might be a bit of a favourite.
