Alex Perry: Closer to the money.

Tuesday evening's beautiful Alex Perry affair at the Commonwealth Bank Vault in Martin Place was certainly of some otherworldly extravagance that only Perry's SS11/12 (and perhaps Carla Zampatti) could pull off. Cerrone diamonds were as dazzlingly pretty as Claudia Navone was charming - so much so that the only word I can think of to sum up that couple of hours is 'gliding'. Models gliding, gowns gliding, generally beautiful people gliding.

Before the show, Mr Perry expressed his appreciation for the 'expensive' venue (ba-doom) and the show's grandeur. And I couldn't agree more with his sentiment that one should just buy dresses to sit on a 31-Rue-Cambon-esque staircase and feel 'fabulous'.

But first, you need a Diamond Credit Card.

Camilla's show on MBFF on Friday night was definitely a spectacle and an experience above and beyond the vibrant prints and colours that have always defined Camilla Franks' aesthetic. Not only was the versatility of the classic kaftan fantastic to see (definitely helped along by intricate embellishment), but the styling, make up and stunning headpieces really made the show doubly ethereal. That much movement in a piece of clothing would be such a delight to shoot.

Be sure to check out more of the Labyrinth collection right HERE.

I'm so excited to be heading to Melbourne in the morning - once again, I know! I'll be tweeting throughout the day so be sure to stay up to date :)

Last night it was my pleasure to do some front row snapping at MBFF's Fashion Week Wrap-Up show. My guest post for HP Australia will go up on Monday (eyes peeled), so I won't say too much here, but I have to say it was absolutely beautiful to experience all my favourite looks (and looks I hadn't seen in the flesh) in a context that was a little more relaxed than RAFW - and more freely theatrical. Seeing all these Spring looks together, I wanted more than anything for Sydney weather to build a bridge and move on so I can further appreciate the likes of Morrison, Lisa Ho, Carl Kapp and dream of grand events in Bowie couture...

As I said, there will be more of my photos up over at HP on Monday - I would love for you to vote for me when that happens! I'll keep you updated on linkage.

Speaking of linkage (not really - this is completely unrelated), if any of you happen to be at Sydney Uni tomorrow for Open Day, do make sure you pop by Eastern Avenue Auditorium at either 10-11am or 1-2pm - I'll be speaking at the University of Sydney Business School sessions and would love for you to come and say hi!

Thank goodness it's Friday.
