Aside from being insanely busy and exhausted with O-week (uni lectures start on Monday!), my sharing of New York runway favourites is mainly because I'm currently planning to make the globe-trek out there this time next year! And I like pretending that I was at this season's NYFW... to get me excessively excited for FW12/13.

But I shouldn't say that should I. I'll jinx it :)

I find that NY runways always go furthest in inspiring my actually wardrobe and kicking my personal taste around corners. I'm really enjoying this over-sized housecoat business, made street-wearable in khakis, cobalt blues and yellows, plus the patterns. Sadly, Mr Paul Smith, I don't think Sydney winters will allow an amazing polkadot blazer under and enormous pet-able coat. But once in Central Park, we can talk.

I'm also pretty happy to see that capes, sheers, pleated sheers, coloured sheers, (coloured pleated sheers) and printed maxi's haven't gone anywhere. I'm reasonably in love with that Rebecca Minkoff one in particular - a new leaning towards asymmetric hems is happily welcomed in my ickle wardrobe!

I also loved The Lake & Stars and NAHM, but I couldn't find pretty pictures big enough to post :(

So much money to be saved. So many fingers to be crossed.

Doo.Ri Me.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Doo.Ri made my life for the day. But just one thing - I swear, if NYFW continues to tease my need of black leather platform ankle boots, I will explode. Coincidence? I think not - so very rude :p

Absolutely adored the draping (again: chiffon and jersey), sequins, dusty brights, ankle boots, and strong vs. flowing. I am also liking the idea of tailored pants more and more.

Who's with me?

Pre-Fall 2010. Part Trois.

I only realised now that more Pre-Fall collections have been realised while I've been running around like a wild child doing other things. So here we go (another big post):

Devi Kroell: a bit Great Depression, a bit contemporary interpretive dancer, a bit the-background-is-so-dark-that-I-can't-tell-if-they're-pants-or-a-dress. :)

Donna Karan was inspired by Autumn leaves in Central Park, and peacocks. I rather like the jersey gowns.

Doo.Ri did a bit of a flipside to what every other designer is doing (the seasonless garment thing). Doo-Ri Chung wanted to "hash... out what would work for Fall"... which I suppose makes sense. The results were rather pleasing :) and SHOES.

J. Mendel was surely designed for parties and red carpets, though if anything had to be, my favourite would be the make up... and I have finally noticed the similarity of shoes by all designers this fall: platform leather ankle boots :) I want.

And speaking of ankle boots... oh-oh would you look at that :) Pringle of Scotland loves them too - only they are slightly cooler than all others. I think they're the only designer who's done something with knits. And I like it.

"Moroccan Military," says Rachel Roy. All I care about is how much I want to marry that floral print.

I love the way Rag & Bone has photographed its collection: the lighting and the way the clothing complements the set (should be the other way around, huh) is so perfect and edgy. Karolin Wolter is also nothing short of gorgeous.

And as this post has gotten slightly long, I think I might save the rest for later - because it really is worth saving.

Today's weather is a lot more tolerable than yesterday's - actually, it's rather miserable. Just as well, I'm stuck inside. The frangipanis across the street have started blooming, which makes me smile, and as soon as the rain goes away, they will smell amazing :)

Look into my eyes.

These are the make-up charts from the Carolina Herrera, Carmen Marc Valvo, Dsquared and Doo Ri SS10 runway shows. I am seriously loving the dramatic eyes and nude lips for an upcoming event for which I'm getting make up done.

Doo.Ri Me.

I love looking at the tiny details that go into every design. Doo.Ri made my day.
