Bright eyes.

General Optical's SS11/12 showings definitely had me wanting Summer more than any of the swimwear showings did. Aside from the fact that I'm a die-hard fan of all things Fendi, Jil Sander, Michael Kors, new Bebe and Karl, I have to say that it was certainly refreshing to see some new and original shapes and shades. Far removed from the generic Rayban shape (or that's what we'll call it). I'm definitely in love with the matte finish on some of the Jil Sander pieces - be sure to check more out right HERE.

On top of that - how fantastic are those Fendi runway sunnies!?

The Corner Shop x Claire Inc.

Last Thursday evening was spent swanning (the only appropriate verb) around The Corner Shop's Strand Arcade store, happily stroking the wonderful textiles that made up Claire Inc.'s wonderfully curated collection of vintage pieces from a B for Betsey to a Y for YSL. After some convincing from dear Emily, I did end up trying on the most stunning Karl Lagerfeld coat/jacket/hybrid-or-other and am very much in love. I've given it almost a week. If it's still there when I return, it was definitely meant to be.

The textures and colours were such a divine experience (and magical to shoot!) - I'm definitely going to have to recommend that you pop in. Even it is for just a touchy-feel.

Chanel Pre-Fall.

Karl Lagerfeld hosted a rather extravagant runway show (Pre-Fall) in Shanghai on Thursday night against that famous skyline and the waterfront. The collection quite obviously referred to Chinese history with the always-present element of Parisienne. It's a bit hard to pin any word to the vibe - it's very elegant, sophisticated... but also very street-style-aware (where designers are suddenly realising that their designs no longer remain purely on the catwalk).

Aside: Abbey Lee looks so strangely different - lighting?

Chanel, for a change, was very sweet and subdued, but overstated at the same time. It was interesting to see how much closer to their age (i.e. 15-16) some of the models looked when they smiled. The show also had a completely separate media area - and might I say, I quite enjoyed the set.

A stroke of anything.

Karl Lagerfeld, as always, was right up there - high waisted, high cut, high shouldered, high detail, and as always, high heels. He managed to capture a freshness - possibly in youth? - that I don't think I've seen before, and at the same time appeal each ensemble to a thousand audiences.

I'm a little in love with the foiling on those last two dresses.
