Dotti.

IMG_3693 2

A week ago, I had the absolute pleasure of running down to the beautiful Establishment (I can never get enough of the view from that building) to happily walk through the chunky knits, leather panels, and incredibly draped chiffon of a very refined Dotti FW11 collection - Aussie ladies, get excited for these babies to hit stores. They are going to wreak havoc I tell you! I'm definitely liking the attention to detail (in the way of tastefully subtle embellishments) and mish mash of texture in this collection. Particularly suede and wool. Yum... shorts.

Aside from the incredible prints and that cape, the pieces had me dying for cable knit. Is it wrong of me to cross my fingers for a colder winter so I can go nuts with layers? These are some of the favourites I have in mind.

A world oh so small.

Junk Clothing Lace Dress - Rebecca Minkoff Alligator MAC Clutch - Tony Bianco Dodge Boots in Ash Suede - Limecrime Retrofuturist Lip Colour

For the first time ages I tried doing my hair in a dressed up bun - I quite enjoy that it makes it look like a lopped off all my hair :)

Is it normal that I've been to 500 million tea parties in the past couple of weeks? So many florals and full skirts! No bright lipstick until today though - I had to awkwardly avoid white porcelain and look like a plastic woman while eating odd flavoured macaroons.

This amazing clutch thanks to the gorgeous Rebecca Minkoff team is now my day-and-night staple for the intensely teal alligatored leather, and beautifully contrasted gold hardware. I hadn't realised how wonderfully bright the bag was until I unwrapped it this morning and decided on red lipstick. Who hearts opposite colours? More and more I've been gravitating towards colour palettes that nobody necessarily visualises, but somehow work once on.

Also, don't forget to check out my guest posts for Rebecca at Minkette.com!

Having read all this, I realise that none of it makes sense - my brain is too scattered today (mainly because I fail at driving)! What have we all been doing this week?

P.S. spreading some love through Twitter and Bloglovin'!

P.P.S. Yay Spring/Summer! Check out that Jacaranda tree.

Saves nine.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Last time I did some weird little annotations for my guest blogging over at Minkette.com, you all seemed to enjoy it, so I thought I'd do the reverse process on my favourite Button N Thread pieces that have been sitting in my wishlist for Summer - one look inspired by 'Miss Twiggy: Le-gen-da-ry Supermodel' (I need to catch up on about 3 seasons of ANTM... whoops) and one by the one and only Susie Bubble. Can anyone recognise them? I was so proud of them and then my brother laughed at me :)

Though both are reasonably simple, with the right makeup and jewellery box, each would just as easily be a hit in any Summer scene. I hear my Northern Hemispherical lovers screaming that I'm not covering big trench coats and capes - I will have you know that it was 30 degrees (Celcius) today.

That is all.

Except that you should all become as secretly addicted to Button N Thread as I am! Public addiction is also welcome - then I won't feel so alone :p As an early Holiday treat, there's free shipping for Aussies, New Zealand and Singapore, as well as free gift wrapping and a surprise giftie! Guess where I'm doing my Christmas shopping...

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

P.S. I would like to inform the world that I'm seeing the Berlin Philharmonic play this week and I am ridiculously excited.

Sarah Leora.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Sarah Silverman from East Hampton (US) is my age (no - seriously) and in the short space of just over a month, has gotten her very own label well and truly off the ground (every little girl's dream!). With her youthful and flirty approach to her fabrics and a little Juliet Capulet, I think Sarah and her label, Sarah Leora, is well on her way to bringing back the carefree femininity that floated down runways before Freja's androgyny came about. I asked Sarah to share with you guys some of the key points in her work and where she's headed. Keep ears open for this super sweet name, ladies and gentlemen:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The Beginning
I launched my clothing line, Sarah Leora on September 19th 2010. I'm still in high school but I'm totally ready for the fashion world! I haven't been to design school but maybe that allows me to think outside the box rather than going along with the rules. This is my first collection and I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.

The Vibe
Sarah Leora is all about being feminine and girly at the same time. I think there's too many tomboy imagery in today's fashion. I'd like to bring back the feeling of femininity.

The Inspiration
For my first collection I was inspired by iconic french actresses like Brigitte Bardot and Catherine Deneuve. I was also inspired by this French movie with Catherine Deneuve, Le Parapluies De Cherbourg, it's filled with beautiful colors!

The Future
I see myself living in New York City or maybe Paris. I'll probably be in my third year of college and very stressed! My clothing line will probably grow and big department stores will start carrying my clothing. That will be amazing!

The Bloggers
I think Bloggers have helped the fashion community in a tremendous way. It's easier to learn about new things recognize new people

Thanks Sarah! Definitely one to watch. Also check out this video for Sarah's first collection that I find super cute :)

On a side note, I am fantastically in love with that first Princess Dress! So old world, but fun.

Check out more of Sarah's work HERE.

P.S. Tomorrow will be the unveiling of the first of a series of super exciting events. The second being me finishing exams forever on Wednesday. :)

Fairy |fe(ə)rē| n. a small imaginary being of human form that has magical powers.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Something a little (a lot) different today. I hadn't shared any sketches with you all in quite the long while (last time being HERE) - much to the dismay of Miss Jes. I finished this one a few weeks ago, but haven't managed to get it scanned (thank you so much, Chrissy, for your help on that front!) until now. This one is based on the Dolce et Gabbana FW10 lookbook, though the intense flowery heads would have been better allocated to Spring. But hey - leave it up to D&G to shake things up a little.

Maybe it's a good thing for all you Northern Hemispherers to be thinking about happy flowers as you get closer to Winter :)

Anyhow - I do hope you all enjoyed the sketch! And as soon as these exams are done, I'll aim to share one every week or two. Deal?

How have all your weeks been going? So close to Friday... I'm going to a local Moonlight Market for a little bit tomorrow night - hopefully there'll be some treasures!

P.S. thank you so much for those of you how are sending such sweet tweets and DMs over at Twitter!

Junk Clothing Cropped Stripe Tee - YDELUYT Sunglasses - Market Floral Maxi Skirt - Generic Braided Leather Belt - Rubi Lucy Boot

A quick one today before I dash off to sleep. Sadly, you mightn't all be seeing as many outfit posts (I know - I ask for what you want to see, and then ignore it? :p) for the next two or three weeks because of my final external exams. While I've been able to get shots together for you all between studying over these last few weeks, in these ones coming up, there won't really be any study breaks - though I will still try to get one in once in a while when I start seeing squares. Or whatever that expression for reading and writing too much is... I'll still be around, so don't worry! With lots of interviews and designer features ready to go for you all to enjoy :)

Spring has, as they say, well and truly sprung! You thought you'd seen the end of this amazing skirt I got earlier in the year? Wrong! It's back. And ready to be worn to no mercy. Funnily enough, I quite like that it's not really maxi and not really... any perceivable length - one of those awkward things that come halfway down your calf. That just means I can jump around in it (sometimes it looks like a parachute) with this beautiful tee thanks to Junk - looking at it now, the dusty green on this tee is an exact match to the dusty green leaves on the skirt. It was meant to be.

As were my beloved sunglasses.

See what I meant about the parachute?

Anyhow - everyone mark November 3rd in your diaries. The last exam. After which this place is going to explode and it will be international Shine By Three party party time.

In the mean time, come say hello on Twitter and Bloglovin' :D

P.S. A lot of you asked about the cable knit shorts I posted yesterday, so I did a little hunt and the actual ones are HERE and HERE. But there are also a couple (more affordable) alternatives HERE and HERE. I'm actually really tempted to get the ribbed ones - they remind me of Erin Wasson x RVCA

P.P.S. So close to 1300! Doing a little dance in advance.

ANISE.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It is entirely possible that I squealed (such an unattractive word) at my laptop when the lovely Sophie from ANISE sent these shots through from the latest collection. There is something fantastically serene about them all that really sets off the Summery colours, incredible cuts (sweetheart necklines - I love you) and a slightly whimsical field-frolicker in us all. Don't lie. I know you're in there somewhere :)

How beautiful are the flowers in her hair? Pledge to the world: I will do that and make daisy chains every day of the Summer. Disclaimer: this may not happen (but I will take one photo of it in action and pretend it did).
