YesStyle.com.au Long Button Jacket - Supré Denim Washed Button Front Shirt with Studs - Junk Clothing Jersey Bustier Top - SCANLAN & THEODORE Highwaisted Tailored Trousers - Tony Bianco Dodge Boots in Ash Suede - Gigi Vintage Croc Leather Purse - FaceFront Rocket Bronzer - FaceFront Ouro Fino Lip Colour

It got chilly enough this afternoon for me to pull two layers and pants. I feel like this Winter, for me, is going to be much less about last year's asymmetrical layering, and more about boxy silhouettes (as appreciated in my last post) and perfection in all things unrefined, undercut by the tinier details - in this case, the greatest alternating brushed studs on any shirt I've ever seen. While denim, khaki and the (intentional) hair does amount to boyish-charm overload, there's nothing a bustier, high waists and favourite platforms can't do in the name of balance.

Seriously.

And a heads up in advance for you all: liking the insane leather on this Gigi Vintage purse? I'll be giving it away to one lucky reader starting next week, so get ready and excited. For a bit of a head start, start browsing Gigi for your favourite item.

As you've probably noticed, I'm damn tired to the point where dots of white eyeliner on the inside corner of the eyes (my usual I've-had-8-hours-sleep go-to) just made me look like a clown (my accounting mid-semester exam is tomorrow night - who was the genius who decided to schedule heavily weighted exams at dinner time? I should send them flowers).

A trick I've picked up from uni (don't ask) is that cheekbones pretty distract from anything bad that might be happening on your face that day - thus the use of a little of this refreshingly light FaceFront bronzer just below each cheekbone. Respect.

This is one of four of Facefront's 'Rocket Bronzers' - all of which do a pretty good job of covering a range of skintones, I'd say. Check them out HERE.

What a monster post. Back to books I go.

P.S. I finally caved to having a Shine By Three facebook page :) It's pretty (very) bare bones at the moment, but as soon as all my assessments are done, I'll be sure to make it pretty and presentable. In the mean time, just *like* and wait... HERE.

Spaces.

Last week I had the absolute pleasure of shooting with the talented Miss Ash Myburgh on a wonderfully sunny morning on an equally wonderful empty rooftop.

I had a huge amount of fun jumping around with a serious face - Ash is such a talented photographer with really strong visual concepts. I love the slightly distressed vintage quality the photos ended up holding.

And I'm definitely trying out some of that psycho eyeliner some time down the track :p

Stylestalker Saltbush Top - Junk Clothing Bandage Jeans - Tony Bianco Dodge Boots - La Dama Knit Rosary

So as soon as I start raving about the amazing sunshine, it starts raining. That's right. Karma bites. But that's ok because it was cool (and warm) enough for me to pull out the bandaged glory of these Junk jeans for the afternoon, as well as a desertly, foxly, saltbush top that the Stylestalker ladies lent me to share. Such perfect cut-outtery for elbowing people... and waisting people?

Sorry about the uncharacteristic lack of photos! It started raining the minute I went outside to shoot these so aside from an umbrella-ed walk down the road, my bandage-jeans happiness (the best fitting jeans of my life) didn't last too long. See you in Autumn though? :)

P.S. I spent half the day digging up amazing things at Rozelle markets that I can't wait to share!

Covet Vintage Co. Silk Blouse - Junk Clothing Lace Up Leggings - TOPSHOP Wisteria Wedges - Night Market Rings

Just sharing what I wore to work yesterday. Don't I sound old!? 8 hours of retail - which has actually turned out to be a lot more interesting than I envisaged. Prime example:

Woman: You have a boyfriend?
Margaret: No... did you want to try that on?
Woman: My son can be your boyfriend, yeah?
. . .

Woman: So you're now my daughter-in-law. Give me a discount?

Fun times.

Anyway - I was never really told what the dress code was, but I haven't been yelled at yet so I guess I'll keep improvising. This amazing semi-sheer shirt from the one-stop-uber-vintage-shop Covet Vintage Co. is the new staple of my life and is happily at the head of the whites/creams division of my wardrobe, and married to my beloved Junk leggings. Mmmm lace-up.

It's Friday. It's Christmas time.

The Cassette Society Striped Shoulder Playsuit - GLUE Store Studded Vest - Greatest Glasses of all time - Junk Clothing Bra

Who cares if it's a streetstyle sin to have icky hair, too much of a good thing, and no shoes in sight - where the good thing is heavy, drapey black, and brass studs and stripes... and I lie I was actually wearing shoes. It's Christmas, it doesn't feel like it, I painted my photos red and green, and I will sit at home tomorrow knowing that I earned $62 at work today... and that I'll spend double that on a half decent New Years' dress. Any ideas?

Back to black and gold - I really like how the back of my jumpsuit is drapey and then the sides of the amazing vest (thaaankyou Sara from GLUE for lending it to me!) are drapey. I felt like a giant alternative blanket, but that's ok. I eBayed these insane steam-punky glasses a few weeks ago. Even if I never wear them, the novelty of looking like Mickey Mouse without the Mouse is still there.

We wrapped up at Stylestalker for the year, but I promise when we start back next year I'll slyly snap some behind the scenes photos. And for those of you who've been wondering about how my Lomographic adventures are going, I have 4 rolls of film waiting to be developed so I will have some to show you all very soon!

Merry Christmas, lovers!! So much love heading to every corner of this little blogosphere :) Stay safe and eat lots!

Junk Clothing Printed Eyelet Top - Shilla Red Highwaisted Shorts - ModCloth.com Gym Socks - Wanted Shoes Brogues

If you know anyone from Sydney, you'll have heard us all complaining about the horrible start to Summer - so today, I decided to make up for that in bright colours and crazy prints. In doing so, I have (evidently) run across an epic focus fail. See? Overcast skies even mess with focus. Let's hope my jumping makes up for that (woohoo - I'm getting better at it!)

I discovered, splashing through the rain on day one of "Summer", that these wonderful brogues and just as wonderfully waterproof. Wanted Shoes, I love you. It's so good to have a pair of transeasonal flats for once, as well. I'll have to show you the fun wingtip detailing close up some time!

On another note, I look strangely young in these photos. I'll wait 10 years to be grateful for that.

Not much else to say today, except that I'm running around getting things together for my formal tomorrow night :) I think I've mentioned it once or twice, and I'm so very excited to show you all what I'm wearing! Photos to come for sure.

P.S. Don't forget to enter the $100 Westfield Gift Card Giveaway!! A serious kickalong for Christmas!

Junk Clothing Lace Dress - Rebecca Minkoff Alligator MAC Clutch - Tony Bianco Dodge Boots in Ash Suede - Limecrime Retrofuturist Lip Colour

For the first time ages I tried doing my hair in a dressed up bun - I quite enjoy that it makes it look like a lopped off all my hair :)

Is it normal that I've been to 500 million tea parties in the past couple of weeks? So many florals and full skirts! No bright lipstick until today though - I had to awkwardly avoid white porcelain and look like a plastic woman while eating odd flavoured macaroons.

This amazing clutch thanks to the gorgeous Rebecca Minkoff team is now my day-and-night staple for the intensely teal alligatored leather, and beautifully contrasted gold hardware. I hadn't realised how wonderfully bright the bag was until I unwrapped it this morning and decided on red lipstick. Who hearts opposite colours? More and more I've been gravitating towards colour palettes that nobody necessarily visualises, but somehow work once on.

Also, don't forget to check out my guest posts for Rebecca at Minkette.com!

Having read all this, I realise that none of it makes sense - my brain is too scattered today (mainly because I fail at driving)! What have we all been doing this week?

P.S. spreading some love through Twitter and Bloglovin'!

P.P.S. Yay Spring/Summer! Check out that Jacaranda tree.

Bondi Markets Floppy Sun Hat - Junk Clothing Contrast Print Eyelet Top - Junk Clothing Lace-up Leggings - Orbit Shoes Ash Boots - Does Not Equal Divided Double Finger Asymmetric Ring

You know you've been blogging too much when portrait-oriented images freak you out with the amount of space they take up. So, I'll just compromise with more landscape shots - brilliant plan. It's times like these when I wish my blog layout was infinitely wide so I could do some pretend-panoramics, but for now, you can just pull weird faces at how different my favourite wall looks when I plant the tripod an extra fifteen metres away.

Today was a painfully overcast (and more than a little rainy) day in Sydney, but with the crazy temperatures yesterday, I refused to fall back on sheer tights (pun anyone?) and wore a sunhat instead. That's right, girl-with-blue-hair-at-the-bus-stop-who-judged-me: my hair is dry and yours isn't.

I will never stop wearing this fabulous print. I don't think I use 'fabulous' often. This top is fabulous.

I got an email this morning from Tessa (helloooo!) who said she appreciated my un-blogger jumping-arounds and facial expressions more than the stock standard pidgeon-toed, eyes-down, shuffle-along criteria that are popular in the blogosphere at the moment. So my flying around, in these very waterproof boots, is for you!

I have a lot of photos and exciting things to share with you all over the next couple of days, so keep your ears... peeled (?) on Twitter!

P.S. a general question for all you jewellery experts out there - Google can't seem to make up its mind about whether sterling silver is smeltable/meltable/I-don't-know-the-technical-term or not. Suggestions/insight?

P.P.S. I hereby promise to lay off hyphens and forward slashes in future.

CLEO Carnivale Swimsuit Party.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

In advance, I'm apologising for the image-heavy post (and in hindsight for my brief absence from posting yesterday!). I meant to post these a little earlier, but only got my hands on a couple of the shots now, so here they are!

On Wednesday night I had the pleasure of attending the CLEO Magazine Carnivale Swimsuit party, and although we all had one eye on the overcast sky, the celebration the hottest Summer to come was definitely one to remember - what with fire-eaters, dancers and an amazing bikini-clad, water-stomping, crazy-wings-flapping runway show.

It was so wonderful to meet so many inspirational people who've worked so hard to get to where they are now, as well as meeting Roxy and all of the beautiful Sweaty Betty PR girls who pulled the evening together so fantastically (I really don't know how they did it)! Congratulations, also, to Gemma and CLEO for an awesome way to kick off Summer - I officially need to go bikini shopping. I've left it way too late :)

So I guess I'll let the photos speak for themselves!
