Strange roads with different signs.

Today hit the forecasted 30 degrees - climate change at its highest, I'll say. And I said I'd put up a photo of my beloved shorts that I finally got last week, and I never did, so here it is. I took a stroll down the road and bought a pack of 5 gum, then took a long road home in the crazy heat.

The shorts: I will actually wear them on a daily basis. My General Pants Co. Lee shorts will also be worn :) But perhaps on a nightly basis. I think I might take the top in on the sewing machine, so it's a little less floaty.

If our arms are reaching out.

THE Jason Wu show - highly anticipated: especially by Ms Anna Wintour. Just amazing :) The degree of glamour, quirkiness, edge and femininity on every single miss who walked out was unnervingly on perfect.

I would actually wear that jumpsuit. :)

Jumprope, 10 minutes a day.

A quick one from Nicole Miller - she did a lot with opacity, though sometimes it went a little overboard, to the point where the models looked a little upset.

Cynthia Steffe - best yet, I think. So many layers and components to every ensemble, but not in an overpowering way - loved the balance.

And the lovely Cushnie et Ochs. A lot of awkwardly positioned slashes and cuts, but on the whole, really fun and edgy - love love loved the boots (underneath 6'5'' models :D)

Elie Tahari was gorgeous - but it was a bit of a struggle finding something young in there - 15 year old models looked at least 25. The recurring bucket hat concept also killed me a little inside :) But the shoes were to die for... as are the above.

And here is my sole favourite from the Vena Cava show:

Tiny little triangular cutouts in the top make it amazing. And we musn't forget the patent platforms.

Daquiri.

Prabal Gurung has got such an eye for colour and shape, it's actually a bit ridiculous. The assembly of every piece is picture perfect.

Cigar ash.

A little bit of silhouetted Monique Lhuillier.

Fun prints and plays with opacity from BCBG Max Azria.

And Ms Jen Kao - I actually think she looked a lot better than a lot of her collection, though I really loved the cuts and fabrics - just the colours didn't do it for me.

SS09: Michael Kors.

The campaign clearly worked - I now want that yellow tote, that striped top and the slightly attractive guy :)

Hey Delilah.

And now, the January of Fashion has officially begun with the Mercedes NY Fashion Week now in full swing. So, as always, I shall be keeping y'all up to date with my favourites - how convenient that all the 2010 spring shows are now... just in time for Aussie spring.

So, in the true spirit of summer, let's start with Rosa Chá - Brazilian swim and beachwear. I always love Rosa Chá for the fun colours and patterns, so i was a bit sad there was a slight lack of anything but black and white stripes. The colours, however, came in massive bangles and crazy woven swimsuits.

I really love that if the key piece is skintight, then the accessorising is baggy (love that crazy shirt-dress-kaftan), and vice-versa. And we have to say that the cork-platform heels were a slight win.

The S10 Ports1961 collection, I didn't like. The hair was awkward, the make up was awkward, and the models looked like they were hungover (i.e. ahem make up artists), and sorry, but if the cuts looked like bags on 6 foot tall sticks, then I'm pretty sure the collection isn't going to make Vogue.

But, one lovely photo did come of the Ports1961 show:

Scratch your shoulder and tell me that you feel alright.

I've had my eye on this one for a week or so, now. It's expensive enough to be a formal dress. But formal enough??

Beyond the top.

Another media network. Really? Now into Cycle 13 premiering tomorrow, she wants a new TyraMail.

Lies. She HAS a new TyraMail. :) Good on the green-eyed fierce for taking over the world.

From top down: I want the lips but not the top. I want the lips and the neckline, but not the hair, and maaan do I want the hair.

I think some things just need to stay on 6ft sticks. Though, I must say Jen Connelly did a good job... maybe just the stick part :)

Casting Call.

Megan Fox will one day wish she dressed younger when she was... younger. Cate Blanchett needs to steal Vogue hairstylists. But we can't deny that they're pretty hot.

For the win.

Who wins? I DO. I trekked back to the store today and tried on 6, then 8, then 6 again, then had a lovely conversation with the girl running the changerooms about what I would wear with the shorts. And then I very satisfiedly bought them and had another nice conversation with the girl at the counter about how I'd wanted the things for far too long. Then Miss Tash and I took a stroll to General Pants Co. and she bought herself some lovely summer shorts and tights :)

And then we made the trek back to the relevant places to have dinner and perform in our lovely music recital.

My day is complete :D

Good night all.

Angry.

I visited the store today, fully expecting them NOT to have the shorts in my size. Guess what: they do, and I didn't have the money on me.

Take satorialist miss one and replace the calico with red stripes, and I'm dreaming of Venice. In the bag.
