When Susie wore her dresses tight.

"The shimmering sequin finish of Markus Lupfer's white merino wool mini-dress with black stripes is an evening update to classic Breton style. Team it with black extras for a monochromatic evening look."

This is probably the closest I've gotten to finding this mish-mash of sequins and stripes (aaaah) worn by Kate Moss in an October editorial:

But then again you lose some of the key parts - Balmain-esque shoulders, textured sequins... Kate Moss :)

Agreed?

Because I know you think I'm sweet.

That Kate Moss wore these jackets through the ages in her shoots, I am envious. That first one has everything you'd ever want in a jacket.

So I eventually decided on the black batwing GPCo. dress with tassels/fringes, and thinking about it now, it was probably for the better because it was something crazy like a million degrees with a similar humidity on Saturday night. Lots of new friends, excessive repeats of Party in the USA (girls dancing - guys looking on in pain), then reversed when we go ONE TWO WHOOP WHOOP (some gabba happening).

Can I just say: insane amount of incredible shoes.

Just to continue the tights fetish for the day: the Collette Dinnigans are chasing me. I want them. Spot dot spot.

Only in Paris. Part deux.

I want nothing more than those sequins, stripes, tights, roller skates, and to be in that exact spot.

Jumble.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

I love the messy, disheveled look of jewellery this season - makes it so much easier to dress up without looking over-dressed. This Dannijo 'Sparo silver plater Swarovski cuff' makes me want to go crazy with cuffs. Sadly, there are only a select few that actually work on me - my wrists are so insanely small.

Apparently en vogue.

Again with the rotating :) - amazing shoes. Amazing set. Amazing biker gloves. Insane amount of LV monogram.

Chanel Pre-Fall.

Karl Lagerfeld hosted a rather extravagant runway show (Pre-Fall) in Shanghai on Thursday night against that famous skyline and the waterfront. The collection quite obviously referred to Chinese history with the always-present element of Parisienne. It's a bit hard to pin any word to the vibe - it's very elegant, sophisticated... but also very street-style-aware (where designers are suddenly realising that their designs no longer remain purely on the catwalk).

Aside: Abbey Lee looks so strangely different - lighting?

Hello, Baptiste.

L'amour, du jour.

Photobucket

The above are the loves of my life. For this past week anyway. My adventures to the local op shop proved productive - the gold brooch (not done any justice by this photo) has the most amazing etched patterns and swirls. I am yet to decide whether I want to turn it into a ring or a necklace... or neither. Thoughts?

The second - absolute pot of gold. My friends and I were rummaging through old things and I all but shrieked (I hate shrieking) when I found the original bottle of Miss Dior by Christian Dior (1947). Missing a cap, I'll hand you that, but still in beautiful vintage condition and still carrying a tiny residue of the original edgy, Chypre perfume.

I have been bubbly ever since.

More housekeeping: the trip to Melbourne has been confirmed, so hopefully I can post some photos of that. Christmas is coming faster than it was when I last mentioned it... how observant of me.

Now, I'm off to make a terribly difficult decision between two black General Pants Co. dresses for some fun insanity with friends tonight. To bodycon, or not to bodycon?

Have a lovely Saturday night.

Small obsession with such boots.

I like their illusion of being not-that-tall... but really :)

I know it's a little illogical, but I still haven't found those navy and white stripes, and envy these ones. :)

Tush #4.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

More stunning products of my strollings at The Fashion Spot. The texture and pattern of that bodysuit would be ridiculously amazing in tights. As would the insane shoes... by whom, now escapes me.

I also like that the exact same set can look so good in both colour and black and white.

Lost my keys.

Photobucket

If you can try and imagine this being upright - not lopsided as it is - then you have yourself a slouch top with a keyhole neckline, drawn while running to Economics. I'm yet to decide if I like the keyhole being the front of a slouch top, or the back. I suppose it'd become a different concept either way. Thoughts?

After an intense session of admiring Danny Roberts' work with a friend, I'm pretty much on inspiration overload. So hopefully, you'll be seeing a lot of hand-drawn things.

Venetian and Bitten.

Photobucket

So, as promised, I'm posting some of the work I've done over the past... few days? There's a lot more from before and a lot more in the works, but this is my favourite so far. I have to apologise for the shocking image quality - my art paper book is far to big for any scanner in this house to handle, so the scan quality is beyond terrible, with shadow lines everywhere. And because the book was so big, the paper wasn't right against the glass... so the actual image was more like this:

Photobucket

So obviously, I increased black levels and contrast :) I probably could have done a better job with that again, but I didn't think it worthwhile until I found a scanner that would actually scan an A3 page. This is my new mission.

Hopefully, more to come.

I will admit: they are a little overly intense. A little too much happening. But even so :) more snaps for Jeffrey Campbell.

I am, and have been for some time, in love with Danny Roberts' quirky and talented touch in melding fashion and art.

Speaking of which, I have some non-design drawings in the works for posting :)

Dr Strangelove.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

These were done during a rather confusing screening of Dr Strangelove - I still don't understand how their cigar-puffing, secretary-screwing, and plane-bombing relates to anything, or even each other. But hey: it's a fairly artistically done film, and I will admit that some of the shots and clothing (of the one female who's appeared so far) did provide some inspiration.

The first would be a silver-plate cuff, embossed with the curly patterns, and slightly tarnished. I do think, however, that the second looks rather more festive than I had intended. It's meant to be a silver multi-chain necklace with large opalescent beads scattered throughout. :) Yeah. Discussions about impounding radios and aircraft are rather distracting.
