Hot to go.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
I think it's safe to say that I'm the new definition of Missing In Action. I graduated from school yesterday (foreverrrr) and the week leading up to that final assembly was a huge mish mash of sleepless fun and tears. And the odd feeling of finished something (even if I do have all my external exams in one short month). So, through all my (many) emotions, I'm saying the hugest sorry known to man for leaving you all unentertained for the past couple of days! I swear I'll have lots of outfit posts up very soon. And that surprise from my last post :)

But for this afternoon, we are hailing sunglasses - they're probably the most transeasonal piece anyone will ever own (Anna Wintour is tangible proof) - my collection has expanded a ridiculous amount over the past month. Bring on Summer. Thus, I was pretty excited when Natalie sent through these shots of the new MINKPINK range of sunnies that don't get any pricier than $39.95. Dead serious. For gorgeously versatile colours and shapes in all cases, I think that is more than an awesome deal.

So, if we were all in love with Miss Bambi in their latest lookbook, we can be in love with all the sunnies she wears too. As evident, I have a soft spot for tortoiseshell.

Havoc-to-be.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The shot above is a sneaky peek into something very exciting that will be rolling out for you guys in the very near future :) Take a guess. Any guess.

On a slightly different note, some help from my dear readers! I'm a bit behind the ball with everyone already on the hunt for formal dresses (I was actually planning on looking for one in November, but no... apparently it needs to happen now). For those of you Northern-Hemispherers, Year 12 formal is like a Senior Prom, but less extravagant. So, my question being: any suggestions?

I've had my eye on this and this, but I think I need to do a bit more comparison shopping :)

And my main point of ramble is, oddly enough, about engagement rings. Some friends of mine recently got engaged (hi guys :D) and for about 2 hours after the dear boy popped the question, Chels I sat on Abazias clicking through all the pretty rings like little girls and listening to Chels plan her hypothetical wedding with her hypothetical future husband. Don't you love it when you descend into sappy teenage fantasies?

So if any of you have fairytale wedding dreams happening, Abazias has one of those collections of diamonds that make you crave shiny things with a Marilyn Monroe soundtrack. There's a sweet range of accessory-type rings too, and given my insatiable need for expanding my ring collection (and wearing 500 at a time), I think I found the right place to write wishlists. Aside from knuckle rings, armour rings, and all things studded and spiked, I think it's always nice to have a few rings that are sophisticated and simple (check some out HERE). They also have a fantastic article about hunting down the real diamonds HERE.

Super Trooper.

From left to right: TOPSHOP Utility Mix Pocket Shirt - Aurélie Sterling Silver Helmut Ring - Pamela Love Sterling Silver Cross Ring - Dan Jewellers Bird Skull Finger Armour Spike Ring - TOPSHOP Pleat Maxi Skirt by Unique - Bottega Veneta Sterling Silver Scarab Beetle Ring - Bottega Veneta Sterling Silver Scarab Beetle Wrap Ring - ModCloth.com Polynesia Dreaming Ring

I'm sitting here feeling a bit bad that I didn't get around to shooting what I was wearing today - as soon as I was back in the house at any point during the day, I was glued to the computer and multiple university information booklets, writing ridiculous applications that made me feel like an idiot. It's a bit weird that I'm applying for uni now... I'd been in denial until I realised I only had till the end of the month to decide what I'm going to do with myself for 2011. Freak out time :)

So, I put together a pretty collage for you of all the things I would buy in a heartbeat - just to extend your shopping lists. Don't mention it. Today, we're being a bit inspired by the Tomorrow When The War Began film that I'm aching to watch, but won't get a chance until November, by which time it won't be in cinemas. My post-exams movie marathon is looking impossible.

Moving on :D I'm pretty in love with this shirt, but apparently I'm really not good at the jumping-on-something-before-it's-sold-out thing. I should work on that. And one day, I will own those amazing shoesies - quality stuff to be peeping out from under that piece of new-in TOPSHOP Unique.

After all that, I come to the realisation that this entire post is a giant ramble in preparation for my last Monday of school ever - so what I really meant to say is that I love that this little ensemble ties together everything I enjoy at the momento: utility, maxis, super tall brown leather, and excessive numbers of nature-related rings.

And so, beloveds, nighty nighty.

Willow SS11.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

It occured to me while trawling style.com that I hadn't done runway reviews since Fall runways in January/February, which worried me because I do love doing runway reviews - I must have just imagined writing them while eyeing off collections. Having said this, in the absence of an outfit post, how could I not share my new and undying love for the latest dose of Willow?

I'm insanely in love with chiffon, draping, and unfinished stripes happening here. I just got a giant piece of fabric and figured out how to drape those incredible harem-skirt-hybrids, so I'm going to find me some amazing printed chiffon and drapey-drape away.

I'm also kind of loving those shoes.

And as much as you must all be bored senseless of me writing chunks of text about assorted things, I'm watching NYFW like a crazy lady (and wishing I were there), so look out :)

BikBOK FW10.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The second half of BIKBOK's gorgeous Fall campaign as promised - this part is sweetly named 'Grey Garden'. It makes me wish that Spring wasn't here just yet - but the transeasonal prints make me feel a bit better. Tiny florals are here to stay. The same can be said for the pretty blush-beige-peach-cream combinations that drift around in pretty chiffon and the amazing lighting in these shots. I need to find me a house like that and sit at the window waiting for the sun to hit the wall like that.

Do you think I can get away with layering lace and sheer knits in Spring?

Mish mash.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

A bit of an assorted post, today :)

First up? Blixz Nail Foils thanks to the lovely Maz! If you're as much of a failure as I am at painting the other hand without getting nail polish everywhere, then these nail foils are for you. Same goes for if you like pretty nail art, shiny nails, bright colours, you name it. And if you're amazing at doing your own nails, then we should be friends and you can paint my nails at a sleepover or something :)

But Blixz exudes more awesomeness anyway.

As you can see from my index finger, I still started off as a bit of a fail, but once you get the hang of peeling, cutting and sticking, these foils look better than a perfect manicure (something I've never had :D). And no nail polish remover required! Just warm soapy water. Life is good.

Blixz has a great range of patterns and colours for you to check out HERE.

I'll be trying out more of them as the weather gets warmer :)

Topic number two: a lot of you will remember my feature of Miss Martina - designer of Berlin label, f.rau, a while ago. Martina sent through some awesome photos of her travelling and shooting new collections around Greenland - so get excited for some amazing lookbook shots coming very soon!

Don't you hate it when you're in your last year of school and someone emails you from a boat in Greenland? Martina, I'm supremely jealous :)

On that note, f.rau also just launched its new website for you to admire HERE.

P.S. any developments on my little shoe casting call? :)

YesStyle.com Long-sleeve Shirt - Junk Clothing Biker Jeans - Orbit Arrest Boots - Vintage Christian Dior Earrings

I can't get enough of this blouse. It floats when you walk. Really.

What I had a bit of fun with today (before going to dinner and not being able to eat anything) was the fact that if I were standing behind a counter, you'd think I was wearing floaty chiffon skirt. And if I were standing behind a... counter... hanging from the roof :) you'd think I was wearing an acid wash something-or-other and Taylor Momsen eyes. I need to get as much wear out of these Junk jeans and Orbit boots as possible before the warm weather kicks in! It's also compulsory to have them half tucked in like this (scroll down) - don't you love zippers?

These vintage Christian Dior earrings are, quite simply, the new loves of my life. I can stare at them for hours. So they're clip on, and a little heavy. I don't care. They. Are. Beautiful. And I can't say I don't appreciate the little 'C. Dior' engraved on the backs :p

Wisdom teeth grief yet again - this time with an infection that makes the whole left side of my face hurt. My doctor told me that when I get stressed, I grind my teeth in my sleep which aggravates the teeth and makes them come up a bit more. Life lesson, friends.

On a happier note, as you can see, I figured out those mystery camera settings!! I laughed when I realised - the bluish tinge is just from having the light setting to UV light rather than sunlight. I don't know how I managed that, but hey - I like it.

Casting Call.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
I haven't shared a need-want in a while (mainly because I haven't had the breathing space to acquire any), but these Forever 21 pretties are perfect, stompable, and very very sold out (except in Canada). Call them knock-offs if you want (I never did get over Miu Miu SS10...), but it's the platform block heel I'm after that, surprisingly, no other shoe retailer in the world has jumped on as a micro-trend.

But that's ok, because one of these are going to be in my life. In theory. So dear readers, I'm needing some help to make this happen :)

Would anyone like to sell me a size 8 (EU38) pair? Do drop me an email if you would!

On another happy note, I did my music performance exam today and it went super well, which I'm really happy about! Another big breath out. And sleep to be caught up on.

Dutzi.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usImage Hosted by ImageShack.usImage Hosted by ImageShack.usImage Hosted by ImageShack.usImage Hosted by ImageShack.us

With Summer well on the way, I have been looking for a sizeable chill bag to cart around. I always did regret not buying a woven/leather/hippie bag in Costa Rica, and these gorgeous ones designed by Ariane Dutzi for her label, Dutzi, may well step up to the challenge. All of Ariane's bags are handmade by local artisans (mainly Mayan women in the Yucatan) from 90% recycled materials. So really, you can't lose with these bags - the hessian-leather-wide-stitching combination kills me to no end (vis-a-vie, that first one basically has me frothing at the mouth).

Dutzi's online store will be up and running full speed by the end of this month, but if your craving for these portable artworks is as great as mine, you might want to go through with an email purchase - just drop Ariane a line at info@dutzidesign.com. So off we go to check out more HERE.

Because she's lovin'.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Fashops.com Mesh Black Open Jumpsuit - BONDS Singlet - YDELUYT Chunky Stone Bracelet in Turquoise and Silver - La Dama Hand Chain - Fredflare.com Carrie Sunglasses - Tony Bianco Dodge Boots in Ash Suede

I was in a hurry to shoot these today and flicked a weird setting on the camera by mistake - funnily enough, I really like how other-worldly they turned out, so I'm going to have to go through every single combination of exposure and colour preference and the works to find what exactly it was I did. I love thumbs-up accidents as much as I hate them :)

If you scroll down, just take a second to admire the massive chunk of stone that I like to think is nested in an entanglement of different chains (it sort of is) on this amazing YDELUYT bracelet. It's like wearing a watch, except the time is replaced by an impressive burst of colour - I love me some turquoise and raw stones. The silver chains went really well with my La Dama one too - which is a plus!

Given my love of sheers, the completely sheer top of this jumpsuit - though there is some irony in wearing black on my first joyful step into bare legs of Summer. That said, I'll be venturing into bandeaus/sashes under this open top as soon as the mercury gets past breathable levels and this black will be tumbled beyond its comfort zone on some tiny beach down South. God, I'm excited to be done with school.

And who is loving my Fredflare sunnies!? Oversized never really worked on my teeny face, but somehow these do.

What did we all do this weekend? I spent most of today running around Sydney looking for people who spiral-bind A3 paper - apparently nobody does this (Officeworks, I am disappointed :D). So if you're looking for a business venture, that's an idea for you!

Looking for Daul.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usImage Hosted by ImageShack.us

Something a little different today. For no reason at all, I thought of the beautiful Daul Kim whose face and I miss seeing on runways and editorials that are blogged and re-blogged mercilessly. These shots were from her blog about a year into her career, and as much as I just want to rave about her amazing hair, I love that these two shots aren't shiny, retouched edits.

On a slightly different note, I really have no awesome news in life aside from my pure coolness of staying at school last night till 11 (maybe that's something I don't share on a blog). My compositions are due on Monday, and music performance exam is on Tuesday, so I'm scattered left, right and centre pulling everything together.

But, while stressing about that, I have 2 short weeks of school left forever, after which there are final external exams. It's a bit weird - we've started having the lasts of everything and from time to time we get all teary and reminiscent. So, this is possibly the reason why I've been so bad with emails and comments :( I STILL LOVE YOU ALL! And I will catch up with them and write amazingly long replies.

Outfit tomorrow :)

BIKBOK FW10.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I've been a long time admirer of BIKBOK from season to season. Like so many of its Swedish friends, BIKBOK's pieces ooze coolness - I really can't think of a better way to articulate it. That's just how the Swedish tend to be :)

So you can imagine the dance I did when Synne from BIKBOK showed me campaign shots for their latest FW10 work. This lookbook comes in two parts, and this first one ('Look Sharp') does such a great job of snapshotting the vibe the rest of the world envies as being European (namely Norwegian - like BIKBOK - and Swedish) street style. I'm a ridiculous amount in love with that striped maxi dress, geometric trousers, khaki jacket... it all comes down to BIKBOK's ability to pinpoint the element of a micro-trend that makes it coveted to begin with, and apply it mercilessly to every piece.

It's a win-win.

Except that they haven't set foot in Australia. I suffer.

I'll no doubt be sharing the other half of the campaign very soon!
