Easy way out.

Photobucket Shine By Three Shine By Three

Vintage Blouse from Thread People - YesStyle.com Ankle Length Straight Fit Pants - Therapy Tower Pumps - MINKPINK Backpack from Market HQ

Posting this now before I get stuck into last minute microeconomics revisions and a lovely lunch with some of my favourite people at one of my favourite eateries. Then exam tonight! It never stops.

Anyway - my dear Jess snapped these of me and my get-up post-amazing-lunch after Alexa Chung's press conference a week or two ago (it's all a blur: for all I know it could have been a month ago!). I'd been wearing these brights so often separately that the only possible next step was to combine the two. I have to say I do appreciate the pink and green together, as much as my preschool teacher said that they didn't go. Who cares if I look like a watermelon. My backpack makes it cool.

Anyone who's seen enough of me in the past three weeks of my owning this backpack will know that I've been wearing it to death. I now no longer have lopsided shoulders from carrying stupidly heavy uni books in a shoulder bag.

P.S. if you happen to be in Sydney CBD over the next couple of days, go check out the store windows at Voi Shop (72 Castlereagh St) - four of us spent a solid couple of hours last night styling up a window each! Voting will go up on their facebook page very soon.

Mister Zimi Leather Jacket - Vintage Leather Shorts - Costalots Matte Finish Sunnies - Therapy Shoes Laguna Wedges in Bone

First and foremost, I find it necessary to apologise for my disheveled and exhausted appearance - the semester so far has been every matter of overdrive and brain-functioning to the nth degree. Having said that, I finally got to wear my beloved shorts that I bought (not without drama...) when I was with Jess and Emma at Surry Hills markets. I'm definitely glad I got them though - such a wonderful colour that'll see me all the way through Spring, but keeps me warm for the time being while Sydney makes up its mind on thunderstorms. In the mean time, I'm happy to wear Summery shoes and matte finish sunnies.

On top of that, I couldn't resist doing a double-leather assault to the eyes with this fantastic Mister Zimi jacket. Somehow, the burnt tan colour does the teal leather the highest of justice.

Reading over this post now, I realise that I've been reading way too many torts cases...

Bed time for me!

"I was all in gold sequins for Million Dollar Mermaid, 50 feet in the air." ~ Esther Williams.

Isabella Oliver Relaxed Sequin Jacket - Supré Cowl Neck Jersey Top - Bonds Singlet Top - ASOS Boyfriend Belt - Therapy Shoes Tower Pumps

You may remember that I collaged this spectacular blazer a while ago, and I really must divulge that it is a dozen times more incredible, pizazzed and versatile in person. The slightly padded shoulders and sharp corners lend themselves very well to the cowl neck on this jersey tee, too. I've never thought about grey and gold together, but these gold sequins are (at risk of sounding pretentious) more white-gold than yellow, and they grey certainly picks up on that.

Interestingly, my new favourite trackpants (I know... I never thought I'd say that) are unlabeled. I found them while shopping with Mother, who had insisted on stopping in at one of those stores that don't really have a genre, with a strangely massive range of products (I found these under a packet of clothes pegs). I bought them purely for the fantastic burgundy, fully intending to turn them into some bizarrely seamed maxi skirt, but having worn them like this, I don't particularly want to.  Thoughts?

I could wear sequins daily. They make the day go faster - I promise.

Tomorrow morning, I'm off for a little trip away with a group of wonderful Law friends of mine. I umm-ed and aah-ed and have decided that I do need to take my laptop with me (far too much to be done!) so I'll still be posting. A camera cord has also gone in the bag, so expect (sort of) live updates!

I'll also be announcing the Style Yourself giveaway winner very soon!

Mrs Press Coat - Evil Twin Bad Moon Rising Shirt - Factorie for Australia's Next Top Model Leather Look Pants - Therapy Shoes Tower Pumps

While this wonder of a coat is from Clare Press' equally wonderful Spring/Summer 2011/12 collection, I'm going to be honest and say that I really wasn't feeling Spring today - Sydney had it coming (it had been sunny for far too long!). So, I thought the next best thing would be to floralise a little with this fantastic piece of Evil Twin work. The khaki and nude is something I haven't tried before, and now that I've said that, it will be all you see for the next two weeks. Such are the workings of my mind :)

To juxtapose that again: these Emmanuelle-Alt-esque seamed leather pants from Factorie's collaboration with Australia's Next Top Model. I'm very excited to be sharing some of the pieces from  the collection with you - the degree of wearability (or model basics, I suppose you'd call them) is definitely alive and breathing.

I'm telling you now I will never get sick of these Therapy Shoes.

Ever.

The day the sun turned cold.

EVIL TWIN Distressed Denim Vest - Dotti Sleevless Khaki Shirt - Hilda Mae Pleated Skirt - Therapy Shoes Big Ben Boots - YesStyle.com Braided Tote - Vintage Printed Silk Scarf

I had intended to post these last night but of course my internet has taken a turn for the worse and decided it was no longer my friend. Sometimes it worries me how much I depend on technology.

Anyway - this is essentially what I wore yesterday to visit some beautiful PR friends (more on that later) minus the fantastic denim vest (replaced with a leather jacket because it got too damn cold). What I do enjoy about this vest and the sleeveless shirt together is that they both have a really similar shoulder cut, with the shirt extending slightly further so there's a bit of khaki peeking out the ends. On that note, I was discussing the benefits of khaki-and-burgundy combination with Lee and Yan yesterday, and we have come to the conclusion that one does not, in fact, look like a giant cranberry. Burgundy just happens to solve all problems in life - you should try it some time.

I got this vintage scarf at a friend's garage sale last weekend and it has been attached to me ever since (some creepy middle-aged businessman in the city certainly appreciated it...). The colour are quite something - I definitely need to play with using it as something other than bag embellishment!

P.S. in these dark hours of snail-pace internet, I would love you eternally if you trotted along to visit the Shine By Three facebook page :)

MINKPINK Stockholm Syndrome Shirt from Market HQ - Shop Calico Teal Wrap Belt - YesStyle.com Tailored Pants - Therapy Shoes Tower Pumps in Taupe Suede - Vintage Cuff - Yves Saint Laurent  Lipstick from YesStyle.com

Sadly, I'm not in a terrible good position with words tonight (post-exam exhaustion has come back and hit me hard in the back of the head), but I thought I'd share what I wore tonight to the launch of NIKKINC - which I'll be telling you more about later. I'm sorry that the overexposure doesn't quite show you the colour of the pants and belt (which are both, by the way, now my favourite combination ever) - and I don't think any camera ever will. But if you can visualise that colour-pop awesome of coral, teal and burgundy, then you're getting close.

Off to get some sweet hours of sleep now!

YesStyle.com Felt Wide Brim Hat - Living Doll Lace Trim Shirt Dress - YesStyle.com Distressed Cable Knit - Romwe.com Vertical Stripes Tights - Therapy Shoes Tower Pumps

Some refreshingly comfortable details from what I ended up wearing some time last week when Sydney wasn't flailing in rain. I had been wearing typically teen-years-ed combat boots (which I quite liked with the sweet simplicity of this Living Doll shirt dress), but Mother insisted that hot beverages with her friends amounted to a formal occasion - for which these pumps have become my go-to.

I really haven't shown you enough of this fantastic distressed cable knit either - this will be fixed soon. I wear it so much more than you could ever imagine. I swear Sydney Winters get colder every year.

P.S. Just a heads up that my blogging may be slightly on-off over the next week or so because I'm so p-p-paralysed with happiness that it's exam time.

P.P.S. In my procrastination, I discovered these. Maybe it's time to cave to JC Litas?

Bardot likes you. So does Wednesday.

Photobucket

Bardot Layered Tulle Skirt - NEUW Denim Shirt - Romwe.com Bat-wing Sleeve Oversized Cardigan - Yves Saint Laurent Brun Vibrant Lipstick from YesStyle.com - Dotti Tights - Therapy Shoes Big Ben Boots

So aside from me pulling out my favourite pile of tulle from Bardot that hasn't be subject to my twirling for a while, I thought (in the spirit of taking of photos of what one is wearing) you'd like to know about the little Street Style competition Bardot is running where you could win a $500 voucher and star in the next Bardot email newsletter, just by snapping yourself in your favourite Bardot before June 8th. How easy is that? Get entering HERE.

On a slightly different note, who's feeling the Wednesday-Addams-had-a-baby-with-neon-nails-on-an-American-roadtrip vibe? I made that up. As you may have gleaned from my excited Tweet (and happy photo), I finally found the perfect not-red-in-disguise dark lipstick to wear like a boss for the entirety of winter. I should have known that YSL would be the solution - there were oh so many failed attempts with others.

On top of all that, I'm very much obsessed with my Romwe Knit. As are most people who happen to be around on a cold day, I promise, it fits multiple people in some wonderful bubble of warmth - but with enough of a plunging neck to button collared shirts all the way up like a raging hipster.

I'll have to take a proper photo of my new nail polish before it runs out (I'm working through it so fast - good thing it's $2 from Chinatown).

P.S. I've been nominated for the 2011 Colourdujour awards and would love if you could all pitch a vote my way simply by clicking 'Like' right HERE! And while you're lurking around Facebook, how about a 'Like' on the Shine By Three page too :)

Paper Skye Pleated Maxi Dress - Belle Bijoux Woven Bag - DITA Sunglasses - Alexi Freeman Sequined Leggings - Therapy Shoes Big Ben Boots

I realised this morning on my rainy way to uni that I never share what I wore to the last day of RAFW (by which I was well and truly a mess in a corner - clad in sequins nonetheless). The combination of the sheer Paper Skye pleat glory and sequined legs by Alexi Freeman was probably the most fun I've had in an ensemble in a long time. Who doesn't love passer-by double takes - "Margaret... why are you sparkling?" - and billowing skirts?

How was everyone's start to the week? Sydney decided to have a massive cry on the day I decided to wear a wool cape. Good times.

MINKPINK Boat That Rocked Pea Coat from Market HQ - MINKPINK Stockholm Syndrome Shirt from Market HQ - Dotti Burgundy Wide Leg Pants - Therapy Shoes Tower Heels in Taupe Suede - Angus & Coote Studs

Why yes, I have been liking the idea of all-one-colour for the past couple of weeks. And yes I did just throw together some distant cousin of a coloured pantsuit in a clash of textures. These Dotti wide-legs are definitely among the most incredible pants I've ever had the pleasure of floating about in, regardless of their overwhelming tendency to billow as you stroll. I've been loving the double collar effect of wearing a shirt and a blazer recently as well - please expect to see a lot more of this.

Thanks.

Thank you all so much for the sweet words about the DOLLY feature - it really does mean so much!! And a shout out to those of you who I've met while in many a chai-latte line around uni over the past week and a half! It's always so much fun to meet readers away from the computer :)

Make sure you're tweeting, Bloglovin' and Like-ing daily!

P.S. much love to dearest Mother for the beautiful early birthday earrings

Step two.

YesStyle.com.au Double Breasted Cape Jacket - YesStyle.com.au Highwaisted Canvas Shorts - Romwe Striped Tights - Therapy Shoes Big Ben Boots

It makes me feel slightly old-and-wise to say that my dear little blog is now 2 years old. I would just like to extend a wonderfully clichéd thank you to all you amazing readers for bringing me all this way and for kicking me along into such incredible opportunities - through blogging I've been able to meet a ridiculous number of inspiring people that have been so kind as to guide me a little in an equally inspiring multitude of ways. Then next year is certainly going to be some happy internetted ride. Be prepared!

And bazam: here's me jumping in what you would think are the most unjumpable boots to celebrate that. Definitely not that case.

I wore this cape to uni this week and got a lot of what-are-you-wearings. Yeah well screw you all - I'm warm. It takes a lot of willpower not to sit in the corner petting the super soft navy blue. Disclaimer: Please be prepared to get sick of this cape as a serious repeat offender :) (I have also taken a liking to tucking my hair in to all sorts of necklines).

In my hurried in-the-door-out-the-door blogposts recently, I'd completely forgotten to announce the winner to my Gigi Vintage Easter Giveaway! SO I'm jumping to announce (so appropriately too) that the winner is...

Congratulations lady!! I'll be in touch to get your details soon.

Otherwise, tell me tell me - how has everyone's week been? I feel an odd half-asleep detachment from this space that really needs to be picked up.
