Desaturated.

So I know I've been in denial about the dropping temperatures (i.e. running around in pretty strapless dresses and shorts), but the mercury is going into hibernation, so I spent the afternoon giving in and pulling out all my beloved winter things. In doing so, I came across this knit that Mum had given up wearing and shoved in some dark little corner between a Hello Kitty belt and a ridiculous pair of cords that she insists on keeping in case we ever need to paint the house. It had this terrible, suffocating turtleneck happening, so (with permission and assorted blessings) I snip-snipped the stitching et voilĂ . You have an unfinished neckline and the warmest knit of my life!

More to the point, though, are these amazing jeans thanks to Junk Clothing. I think I gave up on all forms of jeans and most forms of pants half way through Winter last year (I'm still a bit unsure as to how I survived), because I could never find a pair that were skinny enough, straight enough, long enough, short enough, or affordable enough to be worth my time and glaring. So, you can probably imagine how ecstatic I was when I tried these on and they fitted perfectly... with a bonus sticker for the likes of knee pads, stitched detail on pockets and seams, and zippers for the badass. Junk, you have restored my faith in pants. And possibly saved me from frostbite :)

Understatement of the century: I will be living in these jeans and knit (and the Tony Bianco favourites if circumstances permit) for every other last minute adventure to the lonely little store down the road to buy vanilla essence - kind of essential for cupcakes (I wasn't just walking around outside for funzies :D)

Today was the last day of the school term too. I accidently pulled an all-nighter last night (I swear I had no idea and kept working until I started to wonder what the hell a retard bird was doing screeching outside at that hour) so this is the biggest breath out I've had in a while - hopefully my body doesn't stop functioning on me... does anyone else get that?

Hope you've all had an awesome week with a well-deserved Friday :)

Those of you who've been hanging around for long enough would know of my pickiness when shopping for the perfect stripes. For those of you who haven't, I have a pickiness when shopping for the perfect stripes :) Visual: Margaret staring down a tee/dress/sweater because the stripes are too fat/too thin/too close together.

But here they are. I was so close to buying the cropped version of this tee as well, but then I figured it would be more logically (and justifiably) bought when this Winter runs away and cropped tees with high-waisted cut-offs are acceptable again.

The sun today was a little schizophrenic, which makes me hope that the week-long downpour forecasted for Monday might change its mind - I'd like to run around with tees-as-dresses and layered tights more often than what has been possible. Please. :D

Hope you've all been having a great weekend! I'm almost completely over this stupid cold!

Junk Lace Dress - Yolo Om Leather Slouch Bag - Favourite Boots Of All Time

I must start by saying that today's outfit for a trip to the library (my printer decided to do a dance and die) was nothing short of an epic fail. I bought this dress about a month ago and said I wouldn't wear it until I found biker gloves to wear with it, because it's simply too pretty and I feel like I'm 5. Today, I pulled it out, fully intending to completely punk/edge/rock it out with too many rings and intense ankle boots... until I realised that none of that is actually existent in my wardrobe as of yet - don't you hate it when that happens? :)

I wore it all the same with my favourite boots and bag as a lame attempt of making it work in my head - so please excuse the over-prettiness. I think it would have gone so nicely with a rosary or some intense crucifix. What do you guys think?

Having said that, I think I need to give credit to this amazing Aussie sun that is making my photography and playing with light so fun. It was doing so many crazy things, bouncing of the relative white-creaminess of the dress (in some of the photos, I looked slightly ghostly).

Here's some love for the gorgeous back - not too low, but low enough:

And one in colour so you can see the pretty pink-beige laciness (no photoshop - just some amazing natural light):

Have a gorgeous afternoon, lovelies!

Oddity.

Pardon the terrible photos, but oh my godchild: why are these Jimmy Choo bags so amazing? In my personal taste anyway:
  1. Yellow is really not my colour
  2. Fringes in moderation only (please)
  3. Star-studs kill me a little bit inside
And with all of these things mashed into one, I still want these. How strange.

Apparently en vogue.

Photobucket
How ridiculously fun is this VOGUE Paris cover!? Makes me want to take to all my magazines with a permanent marker.

Some more news from today: after doing about 3 hours straight of work, I went out with Mum to get some groceries that we had forgotten about, and stopped by this teeny tiny boutique store... and saw... Ceci est un IT BAG.

Not the original shopping-bag style ones - a gorgeously textured matte fabric with brown leather straps and a brown leather base. Quite possibly, the lady said, the only such bag in existence. (I'm thinking there may have been a slight exaggeration there).

But guess what.

It's mine :)

So, I shall be posting photos at some point in the near future - get excited.

Not quite ready to say goodbye.

People found me a bit strange.

I realised that the lighting achieved in that last one is not by skill but by pure luck... which i lack.

Some excitement:

MY DARLING PAPA is currently in Dresden and offered (of all things) to buy me stuff from H&M :O People: this is my father we're talking about. Things like this do not happen. But it is apparently a blue moon and i looked up H&M online, then informed him that H&M all over Europe was having a pretty awesome sale to get rid of their summer stock before fall, so to speak (I finally win - summer is only just on the way). And so, off he went on a little bus trip to the shopping district, and got, not only the bag I really wanted, but also stopped in at Tally Weijl (hahahaha) and got lots of other bits and bobs, all of which he heaped onto his hotel room tea table and photographed, and proudly sent his finds :)

Star-studded with squares.

Was browsing Urban Originals. I am hereby inspired to find a pair of vintage denim somethings, an old leather tote, and an unused blazer, then buy a massive bag of studs and be-stud everything individually.

Or, I could ditch the tote and buy the above for $100 odd. The white, especially, looks ridiculously Givenchy. So either way, I will have new or old Givenchy... in theory :)

Donna Karan just released some incredible bags and accessoires.

Just so happens I'm (window) shopping for a new bag.
