I'm so happy with the movement and chin-up authority that Zoe (Vivien's Management) managed to communicate. And of course,Kent Johnson's strong photography, and Maria Bravo's equally striking make-up.

La-la-lanvin.

The jump-out element in Lanvin x H&M, for me, was the perfect asymmetry. That Mr Alber Elbaz was able to draw on technical imbalance, and then even that out with intense colours, was definitely an artistic eye-popper!

It's probably every remotely-style-aware-Australian's greatest gift and curse that H&M hasn't (yet) graced us with its presence. Gift because every H&M piece you bring home from that trip around Europe (cough) is instantly amazing by default. Curse because we don't have access to Alber's creative genius. So, instead of waiting in line for my 15 minutes of sprinting madly around an H&M store, I sit and write about it (but a big thank you to the lovely Miss Jennifer Cassel who sent these through for me to get jealous over!).


I realise that I am getting in a little after the hype and mad dash for chiffons and Natasha Poly, but I think my appreciation for the pieces is more genuine now that there isn't as much forced bias. Moving on - it made sense in my head.

I could have posted the incredible cheekboned and beautifully lit campaign shots, but these illustrations are actually the most adorable things I have ever seen and I can't understand why they haven't been reblogged more than this! I think they capture the intended girly humour and wink-over-the-shoulder so well.

And aside - oh how I would die to wear the red mushroom dress just once.

Drums.

Yesterday I had the absolute pleasure of styling a shoot with Sydney photographer, Kent Johnson. My idea was to triablise my favourite pieces that you guys see me wearing from day to day - it's really interesting how wearing something backwards, or as a different garment altogether, can completely transform the mood - speaking of which, I had the time of my life constructing my odd little moodboard in the corner. I should do it for a living. Anyone? Working on make up with the super talented Maria Bravo was, then, an adventure in itself ("I've never drawn in someone's ear before!") and Zoe (Vivien's) did a stellar job - particularly in tolerating my bizarre demonstrations of tribal dance moves. It was also so fantastic having my gorgeous friend Katie on set with me!






I'll be getting the final shots very soon, so get excited!

A little pomp.

The launch of pompidou.com.au is probably the greatest online shopping event that has happened to me (and now, all of you) all year. Stocking some all the Aussie labels that I constantly keep tabs on (e.g. these incredible Maurie & Eve pieces featured above - crazy prints, fly to me), pompidou is well and truly on its way to cult status. Several more exciting things.

The first of which is something I've been bursting to share with you ever since the amazing LG Fashion team got in touch with me a month or so ago. We have to hand it to them - the Hiltons know how to dress from time to time: Paris more so, perhaps (this time), than her baby sister. And despite the abundance of LBDs, I do like how different they all are... and the shoes of course.

Sprinting on an unblown breeze.

Here is just a random thought that popped into my head. As I said earlier, I went out shopping this morning and bought my newly beloved Ceci est un IT BAG (which I will, I will, I will, post more about later). But while I was out, I wore my heeled lace-up ankle boots that are ever-comfortable and easy to walk in, but, perhaps, not quite as easy to run in. It was while I was racing so as not to miss the green pedestrian light that I realised that hanging out with friends in Summer could potentially present a problem for my feet if we (and I know we will) intend to walk a fair distance - for which gladiators would be a bit painful, what with all the straps. So i did some thinking and came down the following:

I love the high-rise of the first and the low-rise of the second, the colour of the first and the pattern of the second.

It is still arguable whether walking considerable distances in these without socks (more so for the second than the first) is any better than walking in heeled boots or gladiators... but you know. It was just a thought after all.

So, from this morning, the weather took a turn for the worse and we got a few big gusts of wind and some rain, before it was fine and dry again. But, the minute the sun started setting, the wind picked up again, so when I went out to dinner with my brother and Mum, it was a bit of struggle figuring what was beneficial to my street style and what was beneficial to my health :)

... which is when I remembered the vintage Chang Cheng wind coat which basically became the whole ensemble. Kudos to my brother for the photography - I like that my head is apparently nonexistent :) Especially in that last one that reminds me Fleur Delacour's robes in Harry Potter. I'm cool.

The rest of it? The H&M top turned skirt lacked shape, so I put it over an old skirt that I don't wear anymore, and voila - a petticoat. Then there's the bikini charm necklace for novelty, lace tights and my beloved Zoe Wittner wedge boots.

Some excitement:

MY DARLING PAPA is currently in Dresden and offered (of all things) to buy me stuff from H&M :O People: this is my father we're talking about. Things like this do not happen. But it is apparently a blue moon and i looked up H&M online, then informed him that H&M all over Europe was having a pretty awesome sale to get rid of their summer stock before fall, so to speak (I finally win - summer is only just on the way). And so, off he went on a little bus trip to the shopping district, and got, not only the bag I really wanted, but also stopped in at Tally Weijl (hahahaha) and got lots of other bits and bobs, all of which he heaped onto his hotel room tea table and photographed, and proudly sent his finds :)
