I was honestly going to do an outfit post for you all this morning, but it started pouring at about 7am and hasn't given up till now - and logically, I don't think I should be going outside at 11 o'clock at night :) Instead, I'll try for tomorrow (glaring at the rainclouds right now...) and in the meantime, we can all lust at this little collage I put together for Sunday night over-it-all-dom.

You all remember me raving about these beautiful Forever 21 Mary Janes a few weeks ago and asking if anyone was willing to sell me a pair, right? Well sadly, and I don't blame them, nobody was ready to part with their babies, so here is "Casting Call" round two for anyone willing to sell - true to Size 8, Size 7 (I can squish), or Size 9 (I can pad it out with insoles). You see how in love I am!? Drop me an email if you feel like making me jump up and down smiling :p

I realise this is more of an Autumny, Wintry ensemble, but I couldn't not post this beautiful pile of a knitted cocoon in my obsession du jour - beige/sand/nude (or... rose as our dear TOPSHOP colour-namers call it). Slightly less attainable, but still starry-eyed: McQueen awesomeness on legs. Yum yum yum. And the feathers? Try to imagine them lined up in a crown of feathers on a black ribbon. More and more, I find that pieces I dream up to go in these ensembles of mine don't actually exist... on the internet anyway - so I have to improvise, and you have to run away with your imagination. Good or bad? Intensive DIYs post-exams, methinks! I've already made a pledge with Manthy about making this crown of feathers :)

Do forgive the party in silver-ring-land. If I were to wear exactly what was happening in this cluttered collage of mine, there'd be a chunky ring on every finger except for my right index, used for pointing accusingly at people who dare raise eyebrows at my amazing socks... which I really do wish I owned!

I've decided that I cannot possibly trudge through this Winter without that Dries Van Noten maxi sweater.

But it doesn't stop there.

I hereby declare that I am going to make that sweater. Shock horror gasp all round. I am so determined to:

1. own that sweater
2. find something that can clear my head of work from time to time

that I am going to knit a DVN sweater - ultimate DIY if you ever saw one. And so the challenge begins :) Can anybody give me some pointers? What type of wool is that? Any handy knitting websites, instructions, patterns? Do you think it's just the drape of the sweater that makes the sleeves puff out slightly angularly, or would I have to tighten stitches?

This is getting a bit exciting :D Who's with me?

I know a lot of people are getting sick of the hype, but I thought it needed to be said once more. Alexander McQueen. Art. Style. Amazing. This shot is from MUSE Magazine #19 and has to be my absolute favourite of all the McQueen related eds that have been flying around at tfs. It just works - photo quality, asymmetry, makeup, dress.

Thought it would be nice to pick up our lazy Sundays :)

Alexander McQueen FW10.

All I have been thinking about all day is the Alexander McQueen FW10 collection. With 5 minutes to post something for the day before I continue power-summarising The Great Gatsby (which, by the way, is quite wonderful), I can finally explode this thinking into a post as best I can.

You can't live forever. You can't live forever. You can't live forever.

McQueen lives forever. His return to the medieval makes the collection so monumental and pulls it away from the mass-futuristic-innovation that has been happening this season. He brought back everything that runway was starting lose. He merged his individuality and a very rigid time period into this amazing, structured and organic sequence of art.

I think it's only now that we can really say R.I.P.

Eulogy.

This photo from Naomi Campbell's Haiti Fundraiser made me sad all over again that McQueen is really gone - everyone now fully realises how incredible and fast his mind was, but he isn't around to receive it.

But at the same time, I guess it shows how much even the biggest names in the industry will continue to celebrate his career and innovation.

Also: how cute is Ms Kate :)

It may be possible that I died when I saw the McQueen reptilian dress at Net-a-porter. I don't know about this collation - I'm in a very odd mood today and I think I just saw the McQueen dress and decided to mash it together with the exact opposite shoes to those insane Armadillos from SS10, and my current love of brown leather and brass.

One more day till the weekend - we can do it!

Speaking of McQueen, let's not forget the outrageous Lady Gaga who may have out done Daph in the McQueen heels - not only because they are insanely sparkly, but also because she managed to do a half decent dance in them:

Staggeringly So.

I'm sorry what: I highly doubt McQueen sent these out for retail, but the girls at Vogue UK managed to get their hands on these pretties from the Spring RTW 2010 McQueen show (if we all remember... kind of hard not to :D), dubbed the 'Armadillos'. They are, in fact, 12 inches high, as opposed to the previously advertised 10. So clearly, they're making those 5 inch heels (which are killer to begin with) ridiculously dwarfish.

I fail to understand how the models got further than the door.

Just thought I'd share this of the McQueen show :)

Welcome to Atlanta.

All I have to say about Alexander McQueen is that it was quite possibly the most original, bizarre, but aesthetically pleasing show of all Fashion Week shows I've seen. Technically, he elongated the human silhouette by about a foot with incredible shoes and very well styled and customised dorsal fin hair. Then, every piece, without fail, set off this fact. And finally, he had everyone on a string begging for his shoes to be adapted to retail.
